What also wasn't explained in the movie is how a kick by Ray Finkle could overcome a 38-16 deficit to San Francisco in the waning seconds of Super Bowl XIX.

how did he/she work his/her way up the ladder so quickly?
and what about things like background checks and all that stuff? don't you typically have to have a degree to work your way up into management in law enforcement agencies? did he/she get the degree after the sex change operation with the new name?
if I remember correct, the Super Bowl was the 1984 season, so it was played in January 1985. Ace Ventura was set in 1994. So that give him/her 9 years to go crazy, be put in a mental institution, break out, get a sex change operation, go to four years of college, join the police force, work his/her way up the rankings to finally be in the position he/she was in.
i'm not buying it
some many questions left unanswered.

I don't disagree with any of your conclusions regarding the piss-poor rendering of the Ace Ventura universe. So many questions left unanswered.

How he/she moved up the ladder so quickly, it's pretty obvious. When it's revealed that Finkle is Einhorn, all of the cops start puking. She/he obviously spread his/her legs to get that high that quickly.

Good catch. But she/he still had a penis i think so he/she must have just given bjs, otherwise people would have caught on pretty quick.
