Tate is the Great Uniter!
I predict he will grow up, inherit the Yellowstone and become Big Chief of the Rez!
Or......, he got his Aunt's alcholism gene, and being half Indian, will become the Otis Campbell of Yellowstone.

Tate is worse than Monica.

quote:My guess is that she is trying to expose them to the tribal culture and the fact that the tribe members express themselves through poetry and music (much like how rap/hip-hop was an expression of the inner city/projects). The slam poetry guy and the guy singing when they went in seemed to be really focusing on life as an Indian. The last guy just seemed to be stereotypical rap/hip hop lyrics. I need to go back and watch with the closed captioning on to see if I missed something, because I don't know if it was something in his lyrics that had her crying, or if it was something else.
I don’t get the field trip to the concert that Monica took her class on. Am I missing something?
For the most part, whoever is picking the music for this series is doing a hell of a job. Not just having Whiskey Myers as a bar band and using some of their songs, and Ryan Bingham as Walker, but I've heard Turnpike Troubadours, Chris Stapleton, Jason Boland, and Jason Isbell. The use of Isbell's "Last of My Kind" when Dutton is looking out over all the dead cattle was masterful.

Also I’m gonna have to start watching with closed captioning on. They all mumble horribly. I’m missing a lot

good theory. But didn't someone just suggest that she was angling to get the ranch all for herself cause she was gonna sell it to whoever for hydropower? I think Beck was saying that when they talked in her office. (before the assault).

ell she doesn’t like Kayce either. Don’t remember her exact words but she told Rip that she wished that he had beaten Kayce so bad that he’d leave the ranch and never come back.
I may not remember it right but as I recall it she said that meaning for his own good. She thought he’d be better off away from the ranch
Again, could be wrong

I don’t think this Is the case but I almost get vibes that Jamie isn’t actually John’s son, whether by adoption or other possibilities....
This is the Beth/Jaime theory I’m going with.
When Jaime asks in this episode early on if Kayce “forgives him” and he makes it a point to say “You’re my brother, I forgive you.” I think there’s something to that. He doesn’t share much resemblance or mannerisms with his other siblings. He comes off as very different. Add that to Beth asking John if he really loves Jaime like he loves her or Kayce, that seems to add to that suspicion.
As far as how Beth looks at Rip, I think that’s just her longing for a “normal” life with the man she loves. I think she knows she’s too damaged for all that at this point. She’s a huge bitch but that’s sad to think about.

Of course I can also buy Jaime being the reason Beth and Rip can’t truly be together. But I’m not sure how he plays into that. Especially since Kayce is married to Monica and lord knows she’s not Dutton material.

her portrayal of an over the top badass woman is annoying
Totally agree. Either the writing is cheesy or she's not a great actress, but the tough guy woman thing is put on way too thick.

So I've been thinking about this and I need some input.
Basically, I feel like the whole Beck brothers storyline is forced and doesn't really make sense. I don't get why they are so at odds with Dutton.
As John said in the last episode during their meeting, "they want you to go away, they want to stop him from building, and they want me to make him".
So basically the Beck brothers are going full force on the Dutton's so they prevent the casino from being built? Dutton and his crew was already doing just about anything they could to prevent it from being built so it seems unnecessary, and if anything they would partner with John to help prevent the casino.
Not to mention, the Beck brothers recently went to Rainwater to get him to lease their slot machines. So do they want the casino built or not? Perhaps they're looking to expand their influence in that part of the state, but I guess I'm just confused on their whole storyline and what they a) really are trying to do and b) why they're fighting with Dutton.

The last paragraph I can’t remember the details on but as far as this goes Beck already said something to the extent of he wishes he could trust the Dutton’s to stop the casino from being built, in other words he simply doesn’t think they can pull it off on their own
He tried to partner with them but John refused, presumably bc what several ppl have already said which is essentially they are like the mob and once you work with them you are stuck with them forever

Thanks for that. And their interest in not having it built? They're from a completely different part of the state. Or is it that they're into casino gaming as well and don't want the competition?
ETA: And if they don't trust Dutton to do it himself, why don't they just handle it? All the intimidation stuff they're doing to him they could just be doing to Rainwater. Seems like a lot of effort put into someone you supposedly don't have faith in.
I love the show, just trying to understand this part of the storyline.

This. I started watching it CC after the first couple episodes... The rancher that I know from Wyoming and Montana have more of a high pitch twang.

I guess they don’t think they can do it without his resources but don’t think he can do it without theirs either who knows maybe there’s a big swerve getting ready to be dropped explaining it all

I’ll bet the campaign manager slips and falls down 12 flights of stairs. Takes care of the pregnancy and what she knows
