FWIW, that is kinda their point.
They are designed vamp killers, and in the movie they do kill at least one vamp from the first movie.
No one of any consequence though.

Although to be fair, I always thought this was the least translatable book>movie
80% is her moping around. And this moping is covered in detail over months.
I couldn't stomach the book and started to skip forward to the "actiony" parts.
