From the way you post, Paddy, I either know you, or you and the guy you remind me of would get along famously.

Bale then Keaton then it does not matter.

I mean dammit man. I had to look for the video after you mentioned this. It is terrible.
lost 10 minutes of my life. 6 for searching for it and 4 for listening.

Bale is the only Batman. Keaton was a joke. I agree with Stallone's thoughts on him:

It was that first Batman movie. The action movies changed radically when it became possible to Velcro your muscles on. It was the beginning of a new era. The visual took over. The special effects became more important than the single person. That was the beginning of the end.... I wish I had thought of Velcro muscles myself. I didn't have to go to the gym for all those years, all the hours wedded to the iron game, as we call it

Stallone isn't an actor though.

We won't see him playing Hamlet any time soon but to say he isn't an actor is a bit harsh. I would say his acting credentials are more legitimate thn Keaton's who cut his teeth playing Mr. Mom, a Detroit car salesman, and a heel to The Fonz. I honestly don't think much of Keaton's acting and couldn't think of someone worse to play Batman.

Live Action, I'd say Keaton is the better Batman, but Bale is the better Bruce Wayne.
agree with this BUT it's tough to give Kilmer and Clooney much blame with how awful and corny the scripts were.

It's not Keaton. He was fine. It was the movie itself. It doesn't hold up at all. It's very much a Tim Burton movie, and not in a good way.
I feel that way about pretty much every Tim Burton flick. Especially his later stuff.

Don't get me wrong, Val has been in some crap movies over the years but he has had some really good ones along the way
