He was, basically, and there's a lot a swordsman can't do with his hands bound together.

And that's another thing, he has two iron cuffs on his wrists, which slows him down even more. This fight doesn't even count. Seriously, stick Drew Breees in a cage for a year and see how many games he wins.

She did prove to be a badass, though, when she slaughtered those men in Renly's tent.

I think you meant underrated not overrated.. and I don’t have a fixation with anything I just understand the things the text is trying to say. I guess him being overrated depends on how good you think he is. If someone said he could work Arthur Dayne and Barristan Selmy then they would be overestimating him. Can you point to one sentence in the books backing up your claim he’s an overrated fighter in the minds of Westeros society? I don’t remember one. There are more than one talking about how awesome he was. You would think Robert, the man who hated Rhaegar with every bone in his body and points how he thinks he’s a rapist and coward, would also say he was a poor fighter if he was one...considering he fought him and all.

That's partly my point. There isn't enough talking about his fighting to make me think he was some great warrior. I understand and agree that he excelled at everything he put his mind to, and that would be enough to think he was a good fighter.

But the age of his death and that he got a relatively late start on his training makes me think that he was good but I dont think there is enough evidence and time/experience to say he is great. That's a pretty reasonable assumption. I can easily see why someone would say he is, I just wouldn't say that.

Either way,

I can completely understand how someone who only knows the show would think Robert is just a fat idiot and Drogo is god.
