I just always pictured young Anakin being....less bitchy. Maybe not the stone-cold killer he eventually would become, but not what we saw in the prequels either.
Also, the age gap between he and Padme bothered me. He needed to be older than what they cast in Episode I.

I actually love all of the prequels, however that scene is fricking ridiculous.

Maybe like this guy:
Obi Wan and Anakin's relationship should have been close to Xavier and Magneto's respectively, with both very reluctantly fighting in the final film. 20 years is plenty of time for him to turn into the cold vicious killer we see in the OT.

The prequels never gave us a sequence as good as Rey's intro. That was perfect and told me everything I needed to know without saying a single word (aside from Simon Pegg): LINK
