I watch Little House on the Prairie and also The Waltons. These shows remind me of when I was a kid.

I never watched it, but I dated a girl in college who's family treated it as appointment TV.

You know that scene in Catch Me if You Can where Martin Sheen's family runs to watch Mitch Miller on TV and Leo gets a sense of how weird they are? That was me realizing that my girlfriend's family was obsessed with Little House.

Any good show will be better than most shows, across all time frames of television. Good shows are rare enough; people tend to forget about the bad ones of any era but the current one.

LHOTP is awesome

Remember the episode when the circus comes to town, and Nells’ sister is the fat lady?
So fricking great

They were regulars for us growing up as well. If I see them on TV, I'll usually stop and watch. My Mom has LHOTP as a series on DVD.

I read all of the Little House on the Prairie Books when I was younger as well.

I've never read the books, but I'm thinking of it.

Did in the past, but 2020 is depressing enough. Little House is great show, but it can be pretty depressing.IMO

Nellie Oleson has to be one of the most hated characters of all time.

She was Joffrey before GoT.

My wife loves Little House on the Prairie. And The Waltons, Andy Griffith and a bunch of other old school shows. I tell her it's odd behavior for her demographic and they're gonna come take her card away eventually. She pretends not to hear me as she turns on Downton Abbey or Outlander.

I think I've seen every episode at least 5 times. The best episodes were the dramatic ones that focused on Charles being a badass, usually with Mr. Edwards or Mr. Garvey being his partner.

She was such a little bitch.

I think she grew out of it, though.

Harriet was the true nightmare. She made Nancy even worse than Nellie.

Nells was a decent fella, but failed miserably at keeping Harriet in check.

I sat and listened to the car guy with the trivia stories and Laura Ingalls' daughter ended up being a bigger deal than her, a big time libertarian heavyweight who is well known in their historical circles.

She was also sketchy with the truth in some of her writings.

One of my older sisters read the books and got excited every time Little House! came on.

I catch bits and pieces from time to time, but never got that excited about it. Like someone else said, Little House and the Waltons remind me of being a toddler, but other than that they're a tad maudlin for my tastes.
