When I think of the golden age of action movies, it’s gotta be the 80’s and 90’s. Growing up, I watched a lot of these movies. My favorite action star as a kid was a tie between Chuck Norris and Steven Seagal.

I think the Top 5 action movie stars of all time are, in no particular order:

1. Chuck
2. Stallone
3. Seagal
4. JCVD
5. Arnold

Who is your favorite one? Who is in your Top 5?

I like Chuck, but his movies blow.

sqerty, I always loved Walker, Texas Ranger. Used to watch that as a kid with my parents. How do you feel about that show?

Arnold wins hands down: Conan Barbarian and Destroyer, Terminator I and II, Predator, Total Recall, and The Running Man. That's seven great ones and then Last Action Hero and True Lies and Kindergarten Cop were good. He was absolutely perfect in Conan the Barbarian and The Terminator. Stallone killed it in First Blood but his others weren't that great and I don't consider Rocky series action movies in the normal use of the phrase.

Good choice! What are your thoughts on Seagal? The first few movies he did were great action flicks in my opinion.

Seagal is a joke as an actor and in real life. I think one of the main reasons he's gotten so fat is he's simply full of himself.

I hear you gumbo, but his first few movies he did (Above the Law, Hard to Kill, Marked for Death, and Out for Justice, as well as Under Siege, which was probably his most successful movie) were all solid, kick arse action movies. After that, with the exception of Under Siege 2, his movies fell off a good bit.

He had that short-lived reality show out of Metairie a few years ago where he was supposed to be some sort of "Special Deputy" or some similar crap.

I think I watched about 5 minutes of one episode and that was enough for me.

I'll throw Tom Hardy in the mix too. He was good playing the Kray twins, Reggie and Ronnie in the movie 'Legend".

He was pretty jacked in "Warrior" playing a fighter with co-star Joel Edgerton. He was pretty subdued in "The Drop" but winds up being a man not to be trifled with as the movie progresses.

Statham has some good flicks to his credit too.
