Who is Martin Mull? • Netflix Documentary

Four years prior to his death, Bob Saget started interviews to create a Martin Mull documentary. Director Neil Berkeley stepped in, completed the film, and then Martin Mull passed away. Instead of tacking on an "In Memoriam", Berkeley did additional interviews with the family and re-edited the film.
With the lengthy process, the major interviewees had passed away before the film's release, making it even more poignant.
The segments of Fernwood Tonight are shockingly fresh. If that show aired today the performances would still kill. I always thought that Mull was underrated and underused, but it turns out he wanted the smaller parts that paid big and took up less time, so that he could focus on his painting.
And, my apologies, but Patton Oswalt (as is now required with all documentaries) is in this film.

Yeah pretty sick of Patton. Gene Parmesan was such a great character.

He did an incredible version of The Aristocrats in the documentary about The Aristocrats. He'll always be Ron Richardson to me.

Loved Martin Mull and had no idea he was so multifaceted and talented.
