You put the mountain 2nd, but rank Oberyn with the "others" even though oberyn pummeled him 1v1. The only reason he died was he was playing to much with his kill.

Probably Dany due to her unquestionable fire immunity, especially in the books.

I think Brienne shows that he isn't.

And let's face it, we all know the Hound is still alive, so I'm going with him. The Mountain I don't think is a particularly good swordsman, he's just big, vicious, and wear nearly impenetrable. I'm sure the Mountain has been hit lots of times, none of managed to get through his armor (save Oberyn). I think the Hound is superior to his brother when it comes to sheer fighting skills.

So Brienne shows Loras isn't but not the hound?

I know in the books they didn't get to fight, but in the show, I thought they made it look like they were more equal. During the scene, Jamie thought he'd take out Ned easily, but there was genuine concern on his face as the fight went on...Ned was better than he expected, and clearly held his own against him.

Factoring in age (The Blackfish), injuries (Jamie, The Mountain, The Hound), mental health (Loras), and living status...Bronn or Brienne are probably the best. John Snow and Daario are probably honorable mentions.

Watch the scene again. As the fight goes on and Ned 'warms up' you can see that Jaime is having to exert more and more effort, and even looks a bit worried at times.

Wasn't the Hound suffering from an infection and fever when he fought her? If that's the case he wasn't at full strength.

The Hound had a massive fever and was heavily weakened. If Brienne and the Hound had faced each other in Season 2, he would have made short work of her.

Robert Strong.. but of the "good guys", Jon Snow is a decent swordsman.

I'm surprised Bronn wasn't mentioned sooner. Didn't Jaime tell Cersei he wished he could turn Broon and a few men lose on the faith militant?

I'm with you... I'll take Bronn.

He's also one of my favorite characters.

And he exposed us to 'the most beautiful woman in the world.'

I just went back and watched that fight scene. Ned was starting to gain the upper hand.

You could see it in Jaime's eyes.

Oh it's close motherfricker.

Bronn would be like this to everyone.

The ONLY reason Bronn didn't fight the mountain is because he knew everyone would be watching. After they saw Bronn take the mountain's head and rape his mother before his blood turned cold,..his element of surprise would be over. Then he could no longer hustle people for the thrill.
