if anyone is interested. Yeah there's a bowl game on, but this movie always has special place to me. I used to have it on VHS as a pretty young kid and would watch it at my grandparents house. I think that they and my parents all thought it was a kids movie, not ever having actually seen it themselves I remember being really confused watching it by some parts, and kinda scared in others (like when that long arse gun barrel comes out from behind the curtain, or when Christopher Lloyd's toon self is revealed). I knew I probably shouldn't be allowed to watch it, which made me like it even more

Btw, this movie came out when I was 3 so I don't know..how was this movie marketed? It's clearly an adult movie, was there any angle geared towards kids or did the previews and reviews make it clear it was not for children?

"I'm not bad. I'm just drawn that way."

Your experience with this movie is pretty close to mine as a youngin. Christopher Lloyd freaked me out really bad back then. I'm pretty sure I had nightmares with his shrieking voice.

You have to figure in that back then, people didn't really give a frick about making things "kid friendly" so the vast majority of anything cartoonish involved some questionably adult themes.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure if our parents had actually seen it first they wouldn't be cool with me watching it nonstop.

Booze, sex, murder, etc. aren't really for a young child.

nothing scared me more as a child than this. I used to watch all sorts of R rated movies when I was young (my uncle owned a video store franchise so I saw a whole bunch of stuff that I probably shouldn't have at that age) but this and Marge in Pee Wee scared me more than anything in any horror movie.

I think it is the fact that you are lulled into an innocent children's tale and then BAM! but you can be ready for stuff when you know you are watching a horror movie.

Ok...cartoon Christopher Lloyd just had his hand turn into an anvil and he reared back and hit Eddie squarely in the face. It drove Eddie back across the warehouse like 50 feet. The only damage done was a SLIGHTly bloody lip.

I'm gonna have to officially declare this move as not believable.

I saw this movie in the theater with my parents. They were never concerned about me seeing violence. And I don't recall this movie being marketed as adult. In fact I have vague memory of Roger Rabbit happy meals or some shite at McDs. Like how they used to advertise movies on cups. I know I got my Last Action Hero cup around here somewhere.
