I have a friend who is as conservative as can be, rants on social media non-stop against anything liberal, and when we stayed at his camp he insisted that we watch Schitt’s Creek.
I’m right wing AF and I love Schitt’s Creek.

Watchmen doing fairly well.

Im MAGA as all frick and Schitts Creek is as funny as all frick. A great show. Deserves everything it gets.
This Emmy’s show sucks and the jokes are falling so flat without a live audience. No juice at all. Of course, political to a fault.

Succession is cleaning up as well.

Its because the characters feel like real people and it never crosses into the territory of being preached to.

And because it doesn’t fall into the cliche of the bullied gay character or the townspeople being assholes to outsiders.
It’s sort of a quirkier Mayberry.

How were the Emmys? I spent them rewatching Blade Runner 2049 in the theater which was a delight. Any cringe worthy moments?

I'm not one to complain about politics in Hollywood but... if you aren't a gay, trans, minority, never Trumper globalist, there wasn't much for you. For being all about inclusion, I felt uninvited. Lol

Apparently this happened last night where Anthony Anderson and some of his buddies were holding Jimmy Kimmel and the rest of his family hostage backstage: Prepare to Cringe

That was the first thing I saw when I turned it on last night. This whole thing is getting so crazy, I can't even differentiate satire from reality. That would've been funny if I hadn't seen people saying shite like that unironically.

That was satire. It was a joke.

Whether that's real or fake, that's pure cringe. Good lord

Schitt's Creek won almost everything in comedy, Watchmen did really well in limited series, Succession did really well in Drama.
Kimmel was Kimmel. Some of the Zoom jokes worked, some didn't. Letterman was the best presenter.
The opening monologue was shown with audience reactions from the crowd, at the end you saw Kimmel in the crowd shot as well, which revealed that there really wasn't a crowd in the auditorium.
Jason Bateman was in the auditorium for a joke that worked, Jennifer Aniston was there for a joke that didn't (except for the part where she was supposed to put out a burning trash can with a fire extinguisher and it wouldn't go out).
It was interesting to see how the nominees zoomed in. Schitt's Creek's people were up in Canada, so they were all together in one banquet room. The rest had kids screaming and pets running around, which was nice.
Great to see Kathryn O'Hara and Eugene Levy win acting awards.

Kimmel looked extremely bewildered and uncomfortable up there. May have started off as a joke, but I think Anthony took it way further than Kimmel was anticipating.

It reminds me of this shite.
Like making him scream it louder while gargling on Anthony’s cock I don’t think was planned.

It was all planned. The uncomfortable white man bit doesn't work if Kimmel is laughing it off too much.

I don't know how anyone could watch that without seeing that it was scripted and rehearsed between them.
That said, I'm not sure how much of it was intended as humor, but some of it was a bit of poking at awards shows for their self-congratulatory attention to blacks.
