Survivor of the last universe collapse. So 16 billionish years and then some.

Older I imagine.
A little history. Jack Kirby got pulled over to DC in the 1970's and started the New Gods which was kind of the last creative juice left in him. Someone best described it as he was no longer making characters but suits after that.
Later he ends up back at Marvel and attempts to make a new pantheon among his old creations. They mostly come out pretty much like the New Gods with more terrestrial origins and they mostly kinda suck.
Eventually like the New Gods the Eternals found their way but never really get the big push besides Thanos.
The big takeaway from this is Kirby likes his forces of the universe primordial like Galactus and the Celestials to ancient like Annihilus and the Eternals/Deviants.

Thanos is AARP old?
I think he meant that Galactus was the sole survivor of the universe before this one and made it through the big bang through some deus ex machina or other. At least that's how I remember my Marvel history.

Ego was a celestial and so is the collector, which is totally fricky imo. I get that the MCU gets to do their own thing, but saying someone of a celestial form in the MCU is so MF weak as opposed to the comics is horseshite.
I had no idea or somehow totally missed the fact that the collector was a celestial from GotG vol.1, but my buddy corrected me on it and I think overall it's pretty lame considering how omnipotent the celestials are in the comics.
Also, the introduction of multiple watchers and not just one MCU watcher was poorly done, frick Stan Lee

How did your buddy "correct" you on this? Because I haven't seen anything that suggests the Collector is a Celestial in the MCU.

Yeah nothing tells you that the collector is a celestial

Why is this a problem?

The Collector was never named a celestial, he's still elder status.
Multiple Watchers have always been around Uatu was different because he became proactive in helping his subjects.
Stan Lee was not a Watcher.
Basically it seems that while Fox still has Uatu's roghts, Marvel somehow kept the unnamed? I dunno but it's something at least.
