Watch pacific first because like others have said. Band of brother is the best series ever put on film. It's truly amazing.

15-16 years. It was released around 9/11 if I remember correctly.

I'm 7 episodes in and it has been unbelievable.
I'm at the point where they just captured Foy.
One of the greatest things I have watched to date.

Pacific first
BOB was really hard to top but I thought Pacific was very good too.

Pacific first. That way you can appreciate it for what it is. Then Band of Brothers because the Pacific pales in comparison. Truly. Band of Brothers will make you not enjoy the Pacific as much because you'll constantly be comparing the two.
ETA: nevermind. You've already ignored the advice everyone and I gave you.

I haven't seen most of The Pacific, but just superficially it seems a significant drop from Band of Brothers - which is a GOAT candidate mini-series.

FWIW Pacific has solid rewatch potential IMO. Not like BoB, but still good.
Like most I wasn't as enthralled by the Pacific as BoB, but I've watched it a couple of times since it debuted and I still enjoy it. It's still way ahead of almost everything on TV.

I'm new here, and this may be an old thread, BUT,I watched BoB first, then TP, and felt the same way. But the I came to learn from a relative that my Dad fought at the Battle of Leyte with the Army's 184 Infantry Regiment, and then in Okinawa. The Pacific took a whole new meaning for me. I watch them both...repeatedly, and never tire of them.

I rewatched both recently and actually changed my mind, I think The Pacific hits a whole lot harder than Band of Brothers and is overall a more enthralling watch.

Band of Brothers is better than The Pacific. The Pacific is still worth watching though and so is Generation Kill

I watched BoB multiple times before The Pacific came out and like many of you have said, I don't think The Pacific is quite as good... However, I think the Pacific just gets off to a slower start and its lack of focus compared to BoB really hurt the series.
Once Sledge enters the war though, I think the series really picks up and I think the last 4-5 episodes are pretty close on par with BoB...
I can still watch BoB and it never gets old. I have to be in the right mood to re-watch The Pacific.
Really looking forward to the upcoming Air Force WW2 series that Tom Hanks & Steven Spielberg are working on (even though it looks like its going to be an Apple TV exclusive).

Watch The Pacific first. Band of Brothers blows it out the water.

I would watch The Pacific first - it's great, but pales in comparison to BoB.

I was going to say this very same thing. I would recommend watching Pacific first because Band of Brothers is just so good.

Watch them in order of the actual War.
Europe First was the strategy but the US actually used more resources in the Pacific early and of course, Midway.
