WTF? The movie was mediocre. The book is a classic. I'm guessing you've never read the book.
How would I be able to make the comparison if I hadn't read the book?

Strongly disagree.

The book is a classic
Yes, but it would make a pretty boring and dumb at times movie.

What the hell does that even mean?

The movie doesn't hold a candle to the book. The book is an amazing piece of literature. The movie is meh. The two aren't even comparable.

Jurassic Park isn't literature; it's a schlocky pulp novel to read on a flight.

The ending to the film has the correct ending.

Which movie? There's like a hundred. And all the ones I have seen are meh. The book will suck you in and never let go. Plus it makes you think of everyone that has ever screwed you over.

BS.

The book is a modern day Frankenstein. It actually translates into today's world better than Mary Shelley's book. Same Theme and moral.

Jurassic Park is much more than a schlocky pulp novel.

I think The Hobbit trilogy will be better than the book. No way Jackson gives the ending the same treatment Tolkien did, though I realize Tolkien was writing the story for children.

And John Grisham is Dostoevsky.

Comparing Jurassic Park to Frankenstein is like comparing Bob Dylan to Jimmy Buffet.

I've only seen the Monte Cristo movie from 2002.

I love the movie. Some people have Dumb and Dumber in their top 10, I have this. I read all 1600 pages of the book after loving the movie. And it is just like a lot of 19th century books. You have to keep up with 50 characters, they all intertwine with these amazing (unbelievable) coincidences. There is no action in the book at all. And the movie ending was much better than the book.

Maybe. Reading the book helped me understand the movie better

I think the book and movie were written at the same time. Not quite the same as taking a pre existing book and making it into a movie.

Are you saying that they are the same ending? Because they aren't. The movie ends showing that Alex is no longer brainwashed. The book shows the aftermath. The redemption and Alex's growing up is the entire point of the story. It shows that people change as they grow. The movie is left as a depiction of the persistence of evil.

Has no one said Alice in Wonderland yet? Book was great but the movie was amazing. Some of the stuff is just so much cooler to see than read and the book cant possibly do it justice. Also, some of the dialog in the book was hard to keep up with, where the movie made it entertaining.

I tried reading a bit of one and holy shite it was awful.

I still remember the line I was at when I put it down. "Something was up! With a capital U!"

Agree with Boom. We are gonna need clarification on which version you mean.

Oh, and Jombie: why isn't Jurassic Park literature? back up your position.

The fact it's recent is not a reason.

Both great songwriters.

I think you haven't heard Buffet's discography. The man can write a great song.

He can also write a great book. Tales from Margaritaville is a great collection of short stories.
