Not trying to pick ten, but I immediately think of these I do not see previously mentioned:

Ben Hur (come on, man - eleven academy award nominations)
All Quiet On The Western Front (adaptation of one of the greatest novels every written)
The Graduate (boosted Dustin Hoffman and Simon and Garfunkel, not to mentioned cutie Katherine Ross, and Mike Nichols won Best Director Oscar)
Slaughterhouse Five (no, it's not a slasher flick)

I know I also enjoyed Field of Dreams, Moneyball, Breaking Away, A Little Romance, and Phantom Of The Opera, and Marx brothers movies. Add to this list Fellowship of the Ring, Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid, and Back To The Future. All well made films.

Princess Bride is about as close as you can get to the perfect movie for ALL AGES.

As Peter Falk says in the movie: It's got..."Fencing, fighting, torture, revenge, giants, monsters, chases, escapes, true love, miracles..."

And it's also a kissing movie.
