No Country for sure. I’ve watched that movie probably 10 times and notice something new or different every time. It’s a masterpiece.
There Will Be Blood is good, but it’s not on the same level.

DDL was the best performance of either film
Not to take anything away from the great performance of DDL, who is arguably the best actor of all time, but Javier Bardem’s portrayal of Anton Chigurh is among the most iconic ever produced. It’s at least a fair comparison to DDL’s role.

There will be Blood is more subtle and discerning. It's a better "Film".
Old Men is a "Movie" that will appeal to a larger audience (more Top 40).
Any 1 of 1/2 dozen Daniel Day Lewis "scenes" in Blood trump the entire Old Men movie.

There will be blood is the better production, no country is more entertaining

There's like a weird inverse symmetry between these movies.
TWBB is about one guy as much as any movie can be.
Whereas No Country follows multiple storylines and you don't even see the death scene of who would be considered the main guy (Llewelyn Moss).
Haunting score in TWBB, almost no score at all in No Country.
'She buried him the next morning. Diggin' in that hard old caliche.' Caliche, what a line. Followed a line later by one of the best lines in movie history.
TWBB can be pretty funny if you watch it as a comedy. Role tailor made for one of the GOAT actors to deliver a towering performance, over the top, off the charts.
Tarantino criticized the Dano casting, I wish he would have said who he would have cast instead. Once something's set in stone, it's hard to imagine it otherwise.
No Country has a bit more relevance. Scary to think about, but there are probably a bunch of Anton Chigurh's walking around out there after the FJB years. And that's the way the country's been headed. Senseless violence.

It’s got two double beds.
I said I aint allowed to give out no information.
It's these characters that are on screen for one or two minutes that make all the difference in Coen Brothers movies.
I love the double beds quote.
They tried to capture some of that same lady in Hell or High water but all it did was remind me that "this is not a Coen brothers movie."
As to which is better, I can't say. Both movies are 10/10, both deserved best picture. I probaby have seen No Country more. TWBB might be a touch more "art housy."
