Begins has low key become my favorite Batman film over the years.

I love the training scenes with Ra's. Neeson is really great in those scenes.

Thats honestly a good point. What other super hero movies are somewhat realistic? I thought the Punisher was a believable series and enjoyed that as well

Batman Begins

Just the fact that 3 Avengers couldnt subdue Bucky, with Romanoff having a disc that shorted out his bionic arm, makes the movie less enjoyable

Don't you dare point out the inaccuracies and errors of Winter Soldier to this board. I did that in several discussions and you would have thought I cancelled Christmas.

I mean the fact that the WS is a lesser version of Cap, with an added bionic, shouldnt mean he can best Cap and 2 others. Especially after we see Romanoff completely disable his bionic, then JUST RAN AWAY

What nonsense is that for an Avenger? Running away only served to later get her shot by the WS

The whole ideal of the Avengers is teamwork. Yet in the WS that teamwork fails in a colossal way. BB is better. Also, because Ras al Ghul is the better villain

Nevermind the fact this ultimate killer and soldier showed all the tactical acumen of a 12 yr old playing Call of Duty. No use of cover or concealment. Just standing right out in the open.

The Winter Soldier is one of my favorites from the entire MCU but (and I hate this saying) it's Batman Begins and it's not even really close.

Batman Begins is arguably the best super hero movies of all time. TWS is not.

Well, let’s hear the argument.

Sure.

I think it takes all the things we like in newer comic book movies and does them all about perfectly.

You have a near perfect cast with Bale, Neeson, Murphy, Oldman, Freeman, Caine, and even smaller roles like Falcone were top notch. Katie Holmes was probably the weakest of the main characters but even she was a very good Rachel.

Probably need to give credit to Tim Burton for going with the first "gritty" comic book theme but Nolan gave us the first gritty version that also felt like real life.

I'd argue that if you like the MCU you probably have Batman Begins to thing for that. I could be alone in this but I think Iron Man moled itself off of BB. It was the first MCU film that came not long after BB but it was the grittiest, most real, interesting back story that the MCU did. They quickly shifted and started to become more comedic as the movies went on but Iron Man had a very very big BB feel to it. That's why it's personally one of my favorite MCU films and was a great jumpstart to that universe.

You had an origin story that everybody on the planet knew but somehow they were able to make it fresh. Expanding on it with his training and getting into his psyche a little more other than him just being sad about losing his parents. Great action scenes as well.

Very underrated villains as well.

Just a few things off the top of my head that set it apart from most other comic book movies.

If the argument were Dark Knight vs Winter Soldier I'd say you might have a case. Don't get me wrong - Batman Begins was an amazing surprise to me. It's just not Dark Knight good.

Yea I mean I personally have TDK over Batman Begins as well. But they are essentially 1a and 1b for me. But i can see why someone would like BB over TDK.

Maggie Gyllenhaal is the weak link of TDK to me.

BB inspired other films. Paul Haggis talked about it being an influence on casino Royale. Rob Zombie with the Halloween reboot. Whether you think that was good or bad is another discussion

A lot of people credit X-Men (2000) with launching the golden age of superhero films, but I’d actually argue it was Batman Begins. It was the perfect blend of all the necessary elements.

DC should have used it to launch their shared universe

Yea I can 100% see it being an influence for Casino Royale. Different genres but they do have a similar feel to them. Definitely my favorite Daniel Craig Bond. flick. Never saw the Halloween reboot.

The Goatham is amazing in Batman Begins.

Best looking Gotham by far.
