I liked Mad Max 1 (even if it's kinda boring) and Beyond Thunderdome, but Road Warrior and Fury Road are definitely the top tier wasteland films ever made. Deciding between the two is difficult. I lean towards Fury Road, but I just love Road Warrior a lot.

Road Warrior is a real movie.

Fury Road is more a music video.

So Road Warrior. Go November rain.

Is this even a question? Road Warrior is probably THE top post-Apocalyptic film ever, so winning the title GOAT film in the franchise is a cakewalk after that.

Blade Runner, Patton, Road Warrior; I commend your movie choices, sir.

Road Warrior is much better but there are some visuals in Fury Road that are amazing.

I like Fury Road a lot more.

I honestly never really liked the Gibson Mad Max movies. I can appreciate Road Warrior but I can’t take it seriously. It’s too...... Australian.

Honestly, I used to love all of the original trilogy equally. Saw it as one big masterpiece. And I had a lot of fears about Fury Road cause movies in a series rarely do well with that big of a span in between. I can say without a doubt that Fury Road is my favorite of all the Mad Max Films. The movie just surpassed my expectations in every way.

Seriously, how fricking awesome is this shite?

And for anyone interested here's a translation of the above quote into Old Norse:

I honestly think it can really be decided by one simple question. Does Road Warrior have This scene in it?

Fury Road = Winner

Fury Road is our best example of a movie with some really strong activist messages - but still tells an interesting story with great characters, is dripping with nuance and kicks arse. Kennedy and Disney should study this movie for 20 years before ever showing their faces in public again.

But I'm not going to sit in my underwear, eat CTC and watch it a hundred times like I did The Road Warrior, so ......

Road Warrior

Fury Road really wasn’t a Mad Max movie.

It was a movie about Furiosa that Max happened to be in.

Plus, I am not a Charlize Theron fan, so that hurts my opinion of it a bit.

I’m not saying I hated the movie. I own a copy of it and find it fun overall, but it isn’t on par with Road Warrior.

I'm guessing you've never seen a Mad Max movie then. It's never about Max. He's just a vehicle to explore the world he's in. Which is why he really doesn't talk.
