This has been debunked by cast and crew. Film making is slow, tedious work and each shot takes a long time to set up. There isn’t room for many surprises. I think they didn’t know there was going to be as much blood as there was or something like that.

My first chestburster was the colonist in Aliens. My dad took me to see it at the Cortana movie theater when I was 8 yeasr old. I stared at my shoes for the first 30 minutes of the movie because I was so scared. Once Vasquez let loose with the smart gun I perked up and enjoyed the rest of it.
