What's y'all's opinion of Halloween: The Curse of Michael Meyers... the Paul Rudd movie

It's the only one I haven't seen out of the entire franchise besides Season of the Witch (i'll never watch this one).

I dislike what they do with the lore of Myers. Wasn't a fan of what it creates.
It is a good 80's halloween movie (small h). Just watch it as if it is part of an anthology series (which was the original intent). I hated it for a long time because I wanted it to be a Halloween (Michael Myers) movie and it wasn't.

Michael just chilling in the jail cell before he's abducted at the end of 5 immediately derails the whole cult storyline to me.

Love the rankings. The Zombie movies are atrocious but I might put the first Zombie movie over Halloween Ends because a guy that got jumped by some band kids came into Michael's Ninja Turtle lair and beat him up and stole his mask.

I like the idea of ranking also. The thing for me is that I so dislike most of the Halloween franchise that I really only watch and rank 4 of them. For me it’s:
1. Halloween
2. Halloween 2
3. Halloween 2018
4. Halloween Kills
And that’s it. Halloween Ends is so bad it’s like the writers all got high and took turns coming up with the wildest story lines imaginable. Gosh awful.

It wasn't Halloween, but it was a damned good movie. The premise was spot on and typical Carpenter. Total John Carpenter fan here.

The biggest issue with Halloween 3 (Season of the Witch) it is not a Micheal Myers film, they should have gone with a different name for the movie.

Eh, the name was fine with what they wanted to do. It was go ing to be a bunch of different Halloween stories, so an anthology called Halloween makes total sense. They just didn't realize how big Michael Myers had gotten and then did an awful job communicating that 3 wasn't going to be a Michael Myers story. Doing Halloween 2, which wasn't a planned movie, 1 was supposed to be stand alone, didn't help.

Well, it’s worth watching. Unlike Kills and Ends. I have a burning hatred for those movies.
