Not life changing, but…
That “holy shite those are dinosaurs” score in Jurassic Park left a permanent mark on my brain.
In the most recent shite fest of a Jurassic Park movie, they played that score when they first showed Alan Grant. It flipped a switch in my head, like a moment every movie should try to have.
A shame the movie that followed that scene was so bad.

The Passion of the Christ
even when you know that scourging isn't as simple as being beaten with a whip it's a very different experience seeing it enacted on screen

The ending of The Last American Virgin.
It showed me at an early age that you can never truly trust a woman.

For me , Full Metal Jacket changed my life. I joined the military just a few weeks after watching it.
that was me. even thought I never made it out of Boot (I did graduate), that movie really got me in a good spot on what to expect.
my mom on the other hand watched it a week after I left, and freaked the frick out

Pulp Fiction
I always felt like Hollywood was avoiding an alternative style of storytelling with a level of twisted humor. I figured I could succeed as a screenwriter by attacking that void.
But after seeing Pulp Fiction, I knew the King had arrived and someone like me could never compete for that void that Tarantino would fill for a long time.

It’s a wonderful life.
Came here to post this.
I can't help but feel uplifted every time I watch this movie. I can honestly say the end of this movie has pulled me out of depression a few times.
Can't think of another movie that could possibly impact me like this.

Movies haven't really shaped my life, but I do find rewatching Gattaca is always great for inspiration & faith in the human spirit.

Career Opportunities taught me (an 8YO boy at the time) that I was very, very, very... very straight.

This is what I meant by impact....lol I didn't meañ it changed your life literally like you became a different person. I meant what mizzou here meant. What movie meant something to you. Great reply to the post mizz!
Well, in that case I could name a few. Growing up, my old man and I would go see a movie together from time to time. It was just one of those things we liked to do - movies and LSU baseball games at the old Alex Box. We saw a lot of movies together at the theater, but the ones I remember for one reason or another in particular were:
Who Framed Roger Rabbit
The Hunt for Red October
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
Apollo 13
Star Trek: First Contact

Full. Metal. Jacket.
Don't be a pussy.
At lunch, every day (at least once, the Parris Island part), until I flunked out and enlisted.
There are others that have influenced me later, but FMJ probably poured the epoxy over my personality at a young age.
