The Mandalorian is very, very good to the OT Star Wars fan. It does a fantastic job of creating the vague, exciting sci-fi adventures us old folks imagined after the original Star Wars (before Empire Strikes Back, even). You could get away with it completely, not watching anything but the first Star Wars movie, and be fine. It crafts the Empire remnants (on the down-low after the Death Star is destroyed), Tatooine and Sandpeople, Jawas etc into the fabric of the tale.
WAS really good, until the SJW's got one of the best, most enjoyable female leads in recent memory fired from the fricking show.

first Star Wars movie that didn’t really feature any of the main storyline characters.
Honestly, this is the way all of the Disney Star Wars movies should have gone. They could have jumped 200 years into the future and continued within the universe but with an entirely new cast of characters. But, since they needed to keep milking that IP we got what we got...which didn't seem to make anyone happy.
I generally enjoyed Rouge One mostly because it felt like anew Star Wars movies, whereas the new trilogy (I watched 2 of the 3) never felt like that to me, despite bring back most of the old gang (to kill unceremoniously.)

So you let someone else decide how you should lead your life then? Whatever helps you sleep at night I guess.
I was drinking at a friend’s house and he wanted me to watch it after I gave him a hard recommendation for us to watch that he obliged. He watched a film I wanted to introduce him to, so I had to come and watch what he wanted me to watch. Wasn’t really peer pressure at all. It was fair. Just nothing more than this:
And yes, The Mandorian is the direction the Star Wars Universe should have gone, but Kathleen Kennedy is ruining it. It’s more her specifically on why I basically refuse to watch Star Wars movies.

1) First off, she was fired after the last episode of the season. There has yet to be any noticeable impact, she was in the last show.
2) It's one of the more peripheral characters, not a lead. Cara Dune is only essential if Mando chooses to join the New Republic, which I'm not really that eager to see. I like him out in the wastelands.
And it's not like Cara is at Asoka level in-universe, or even Bo Katan.
Speaking of which, I couldn't see Cara joining the group going to Mandalore, anyway. She's New Republic as mentioned, which I don't think is welcomed any more than the Old Republic was. They're going to be MMGA (Make Mandalore Great Again).
So she was out for awhile anyway, in all likelihood. And it's my understanding there's been overtures to her returning, much the same way James Gunn got fired and has now returned to Disney.
And even if she's gone, you could easily enough swap in Mayfield instead, who brings a lot of the same parts to the table (will make a good backup to Mando). And I think Mayfield is an immensely more interesting option in that spot.

I can’t do LotR anymore after watching GoT. It just seems too cartoony.
It’s so unrealistic that it had a satisfying end and was enjoyable and worth my time.
Life isn’t like that.

Nothing could ruin this movie for me. The fact that the poor girl got eaten too sucks, but he had It coming. I hope the fox still has that bitch’s hat.
