LOTR Fellowship

YOU SHALL NOT PASS!

That scene had me in my seat with goosebumps saying... THIS is why movies were invented!

Probably The Right Stuff.

It was the first time I'd seen a movie that had an Intermission; the whole movie was on such a grand scale that I'd never seen before.

I was in awe as a kid.

Maybe it's not the best movie I ever saw in the theaters but it's the first "best" I ever saw and the best pilot I ever saw.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2.

I guess seeing something end that you grew up with made it so much more surreal. Not to mention it was a fantastic movie.

There are probably others, but that’s the first one that popped in my head

Jokes aside, greatest movie is Saving Private Ryan. The D-Day scene was incredible on the big screen.

Not nearly the best, but most memorable moment was when me and girlfriend went to Passion of the Christ and this chick snuck in a Filet o Fish combo meal. Starts eating it and then Jesus starts getting the business. People stare darts through her. She regretfully put that Sammich back in her purse.

Lawrence of Arabia is the first one to come to mind.

Couple of others that were great are:
Bonnie and Clyde (saw it two nights in a row)
Bullet

don't know about the greatest movie I ever saw in theaters, but the biggest was certainly Titanic. You got the feeling that you were part of a cultural phenomenon

It was truly unbelievable. It'll always have a special place for me because of all the times it got me laid

The "pick only one" criteria is unrealistic.

The Matrix
The Dark Knight in IMAX
Mad Max: Fury Road
Inception
Inherent Vice

I once heard the guy behind me ask his date, sitting to his right, if she wanted to play elbows. When she asked what that was, he explained that you count elbows. She remained confused so he took his right arm and started counting his left elbow, right elbow, her left elbow, and then put his arm around her and said four.

The Dark Knight for me and it’s not close.

First movie I had ever attended where the whole crowd stood up and gave a standing ovation for a good 2 minutes. It was crazy.

I'll agree with those three, in that order. And with Empire Strikes Back clearly at the top.
