I'd put Payne Stewart in there as well. Plane lost cabin pressure while in the air and everyone on board died of oxygen deprivation and the plane ultimately crashed.

LSU fans who remember Bo Rein were there for the prototype of this event.

The whole situation with the plane still being airborne but no communication just made it all the more shocking.

He was 81, that should never be shocking.
C'mon man! His organs were so pickled that he should have lived to 150. Great music and definitely lived his life his way.

Seriously I'd say Prince because he was so not into drugs, but the opiates got hold I suppose.

Yeah, he and Michael Jackson died way younger than I thought they would.

James Garner and Charleston Heston. Not really shocked at their deaths but just the loss of two damn good actors.

Robin Williams for me, was always one of my favorites.

i wouldnt say affected me at all, but it was very shocking thing being a happy go lucky guy all the time he never seemed serious or depressed guy

It wasn’t depression, it was a form of dementia and Parkinson’s that was significantly progressing. He decided to go out on his own terms before becoming a lifeless shell of himself.

Idk if it's been covered but the answer for me is definitely Paul Walker. The franchise was hitting the beginnings of lightspeed

I've got to go with Carrie Fisher. I remember feeling genuinely sad despite never knowing her personally. I suppose she was such a big part of my childhood it was hard to see my princess go that abruptly just as she had become back into the spotlight.

Robin Williams and Phil Hartman. Prince also - for a rock star, I thought he lived pretty clean and was surprised he was doing drugs.

I remember as a kid when he died, they made him out to be this sloppy fat drug addict, and everyone was acting like it was expected because he didn’t take care of himself. They made him seem like a sleaze.

I just recently watched a documentary about him, and he was the nicest guy. He did a bunch of charity stand up shows and he would never accept the money they tried to pay him, he said give it to the kids. He wasn’t a sleaze at all but the media made him seem that way.
