William dying in the park and Dolores escaping to the real world she knew about are two things that I would have expected both seasons to be leading up to. Which is not to say that I predicted either of those things, I don't really expect the show to follow clean story arcs.

I think the use of flashbacks (or multiple timelines, as some people like to call them), has gotten kind of gimmicky at this point. They're obviously really hooked on Vonnegut and the idea of telling stories out of order for the sake of telling them out of order.

Westworld is probably still the most interesting show on TV for me right now, at least until Thrones comes back. But the Nolans are going to make you sit through their fart sniffing and tributes and homages to all their favorite directors and influences or whatever if you want to get to the end and find out what happened.

Anyway, I think it's great that Arnold's house is still in perfect condition and untouched since his death 30+ years ago.

Why does everyone get so worked up over someone dying?

You do realize they are coming back the next episode, right?

Season 2 was the Last Jedi bad.

The Riddle of the Sphinx episode was the only redeeming quality.

That’s part of my problem? They make a big deal out of blowing up the cradle because now they can’t be brought back, except jk. Pretty much everyone is coming back.

How did Stubbs know that the Hale that was leaving was actually a host?

Basically do that and then watch E10 because so far both episodes have been 9 hours of set up for the finale episode.

Mesh network? Or Ford foresaw this whole thing and knew Dolores would be leaving in Hale’s body.

I felt like the convo he had with her was to make you think he was a host but he actually wasn't?

IDK I got no clue WTF is going on

I’m just glad I’m not the only one lost as frick. Let’s tell a story 5 different ways out of order and when people don’t get it act like we’re just smarter than they are. frick this. Season 1 being different timelines was cool, they should of just played out season 2in order because it’s an awesome story just fricking stupid to start at the end.

It's not clear if Stubbs was a host with similar programming to Teddy, or a human who was hired and trained by Ford with the qualities that Ford wrote into Teddy?

The only narrative point I could see there was to help explain how Dolores/Charlotte made it past all the security checks.

So the most logical explanation is that this is fidelity testing a host William.

Similar to how Jim Deloss has his routine in his white room, William stumbles down the elevator to did Emily (of some level of fidelity) similar to William coming to meet Jim. Emily then begins the fidelity test with William.

There are still a list of unanswered questions. William is outside of the Forge as it starts flooding. We assumed he got up and went in afterwards, though that doesn’t seem to make sense (Bernard doesn’t see him). He is then alive after the recovery op. Is that the same William? Assuming him in the elevator is not taking place before te valley floods, how long has it been? The Forge is ruined, so seemingly a while. Lastly why would they choose to reincarnate blown up hand William?

I do not believe he was a host the whole time. Found this interesting:

quote:

"I really questioned the nature of my reality," Herbers told INSIDER when asked about her first reaction to reading the scene script. "I questioned everything in retrospect for a second. But, from my understanding, everything that happened between the Man in Black and [Emily] prior was real, and he did kill me."

quote:

"Not at all. Not at all," Herbers said when asked if this post-credits scene discounts what we thought knew about William and Emily being human in earlier season two scenes. "I don't think so. Just dramatically it would take away the biggest heartbreak you can imagine [when William killed Emily]." This means the William we saw throughout the season and up until the elevator scene was the real, original William. Him being human for those scenes makes for a more impactful narrative arc. As we saw, the real William was having his own delusions and issues with understanding what was real around him. He became paranoid to the point of murdering his only child — and that reality is far more impactful if it was a true moment.

There's also a lot of other interesting stuff here:

He made at least 3-4 like “wink wink” comments to suggest he was a host and basically called her out as being a host.

I think it’s safe to say Stubbs is a host.

Yeah, the show is unnecessarily complex. I don't mind when I have to really pay attention when I'm watching something and think about everything after the episode ends to get things straightened out. But this show has gotten a little ridiculous. Dang Nolan family.

Lisa Joy has answered some questions: Deadline Hollywood

William really did kill his daughter in the park. The post-credits fidelity test is in the future.

I find it strange that we saw nothing of William between getting on the elevator and being found alive among the survivors.

What kind of twisted overcomolicated total mess of a show did I just watch.

That finale is up there with one of the worst 90 minutes of TV I've seen in a long time.
