only way to kill wolverine, would be:
stop liking him, once his popularity is gone the writer will figure out how to kill him off. but seeing how he is the most popular x-men, that probably isn't going to happen. in the origins story they tell you ademantium can cut ademantium, basically making it possible to kill him, but in the comics nothing can cut it except that sword.

Oxygen depletion...
Cement his arse to the botton of the ocean/river or put him in space, etc.
There is nothing for him to regenerate, and he would simply die.

I am pretty sure this has been done, and eventually he was brought back to land and his heart started to pump again. so he would have to be left somewhere where no one could/would ever find him to bring him back.

It truly depends on who is writing him.
Some people write him as practically immortal, with his healing factor able to heal from anything.
Some people make it to where practically anything fricks up his healing factor.
A good example of the second one is Old Man Logan or the Reavers Saga (right after Jubilee is introduced)

How are you going to cut his head off? His spine is made of adamantium. You would need something sharper/more rigid than that metal.

It was during the Onslaught storyline. You kill Wolverine by encasing in a telekinetic bubble making him stop breathing. You kill scott summer by cutting off his head. Jean gray you shoot her up with drugs so he is too messed up to think straight and thus can't focus.
