Rocky just tore out of his mansion in his sports car, driving hard and pondering life and fate with an awesome flashback montage set to a pumping 80s rock anthem.
“THERES NO EASY WAY OUT”
Dude’s beating himself up hard over the loss of Apollo.

mine was always the driving montage, but the training montage was great as well
the driving montage was just so perfect 80s I think it puts it over the training one

lol I thought the same thing.
But, he never intended to leave and drive 2.0. It was Adrienne, his usual rock, the one to give him that critical boost when he’s down, saying “YOU CANT WIN!” that sent him right back out the door and into the night once again.

Driving montage was vintage 80s, no doubt. Training montage was timeless, rising to meet great challenges, rediscovering the basics of what made you great, finding your inner strength, set amidst epic nature. And Rocky’s training contrasts with the indoor, modern, scientific, machine training of Drago.
I probably love the training montage best.

And Rocky’s arrival in Russia...
In the warrior’s code
There’s no surrender
Though his body cries stop
His spirit cries...never!

That car is one of the most underrated when it comes to the discussion of greatest movie vehicles. Thing had like 3 dozen gears!

Be 16 yr old me.
Just moved from Louisiana to Germany.
Haven’t made many friends yet.
Goes to a German movie theater on a Saturday afternoon with my Pop.
Rocky IV, original cut, no German dubbing, no sub titles.
Yet, we were the only two Americans in the crowded theater.
Rocky beats the shite out of Drago.
Entire theater erupts into German cheers for America.
Several high fives by unknown Germans as I’m leaving the theater.
16 yr old me in Germany, 1986.
fricking awesome time to be alive.

WHICH training montage? This masterpiece had TWO. One before Adrian showed up, and one afterwards.
