One of the worst films I’ve ever seen

I’m sure someone will be along to tell me how I missed the symbolism and the take on whateverthefrick but that can’t compensate for bad writing and worse character development

It’s like the director wants to be Kubrick but doesn’t have even a quarter of the ability

The underlying message of stealing youth and vitality from young models is a worthy subject.

The actual film was basically unwatchable.

I'm not the biggest fan of Neon Demon, but you took it FAR too much of a literal way.

It’s not great, Refn is a frustrating filmmaker imo but the ladies are hot AF and you can tell these actresses know that world and the idea that was trying to be conveyed in the movie. The symbolism doesn’t bother me, I kind of like it actually but he never consolidates the point in a real way which is becoming his trademark.

I thought this movie was great and have enjoyed most of Refn's work. The actresses acted like I would expect a real model to be.

Refn’s an acquired taste.

I dig his stuff.

I liked it. But it's one of those movies that I liked more for how it looked than whatever the plot was, which I don't remember cause I haven't seen it since it came out like a decade ago.

This. It was sort of a revisionist take on the legend of the countess who bathed in the blood of virgins to remain young and beautiful. Here, they physically consume the girls to steal their beauty and vital essence. Other than the cannibalism, it's not much of a horror movie, depsite being marketed as such.
