Either solid troll or you have zero taste in movies. Either way, enjoy your 4th of July Festival of Downvotes. You earned them.

Good catch.

So much for reciting it by heart.

Explain this trope.
Woman gets captured

Woman gets saved by men

Woman gets sassy while being rescued

Woman gets men to do the rest of the fighting while they hang back at base.

I can do it for all 3. They bleed into each other in my head sometimes.

I just watched TLJ again today. It’s really close to being a great movie.

This. My favorite part was when they used their dildos to stop space trump

What else should have been done with Luke after TFA?

I agree that TFA in many ways did TLJ no favors. But I could have lived with a Luke who, having himself received only rudimentary Jedi training at best, lost confidence in himself when he tried to train Kylo Ren in the Jedi way, only for Kylo to turn to the Dark Side. He then retreated from society in order to avoid passing his knowledge on for fear that it would do more harm than good. Rey could have helped him find his purpose again by convincing him to train her, and her ultimate victory over Kylo would have also restored his faith and confidence in himself and his ability to train a new generation of Jedi. That would make sense with the character. A Luke who has decided that the Jedi are stupid and bringing them back was a bad idea? Completely at odds with the character as presented in the original trilogy.

What other 70's movies was this "trope" in?

It was also close to 35 years later. The Luke from TFA is the Luke that Johnson had to work with. TFA put him out of touch and on that island, despite everything happening. It had to be something much stronger than lost confidence, or it makes even less sense. I didn't like TFA much, and I liked TLJ even less. I just want to see TFA get the credit it deserves for screwing up a slam dunk.

Just these plot points that aren’t good.

Which is the whole movie.

Yeah I know. It’s weird. I enjoy the movie. but i also know it has plot issues within the Star Wars universe. But I liked the action and the special effects and the humor. I love Rey aside from her absurd force powers. I liked seeing yoda.

The worst part about The Last Jedi is the need for a dumb arse childish joke every 5 minutes like they do in the superhero movies. It was almost insulting how childish, poorly timed, and unnecessary the humor was.

I appreciate the humor. The older I get, the more I want to see some moments of levity. Life, real life, is full of humor. But I acknowledge it’s a personal preference.

Rocky. Adrian was captured by her own shyness and lack of confidence and Paulie’s abuse. Rocky saved her. She got a little sassy but Rocky went ahead and raped her anyway, for her own good. Then Rocky did the fighting in the ring.

Good flick. Totally enjoyed it.

Will not stay up for days contemplating fit with the rest of Star Wars.

frankly could care less if it was SJW or not. I disliked it because I thought it was poorly paced, poorly written, and a piss poor second part of a trilogy. It was also a pretty darn poor Star Wars movie.

In Return of the Jedi Leia is a hero. She rides the speedbike through the woods taking out storm troopers. Luke has to jump on her speedbike.

She also helps Han fight off the empire with the help of Chewy and the ewoks but she is way more than just a damsel in distress.
