I watched it on HBO Max last night.

It was ok, a couple parts were pretty good.

Streamed it now that the price came down.

A good story that is poorly paced, and further damaged with a mishmash of action scenes. Every action sequence should be a story within themselves, not a nonsensical string of punches and explosions.

The actors were fine, just lost in a slow slog of a movie. Lobo was great, but tacked onto each reel.

A missed opportunity. A good movie lost in a mess of editing.

You nailed it. It really did have the chance to be good, but the editing was horrible.

After a decade of mediocre to bad MCU movies I’m not sure why this mediocre superhero movie was surprising or upsetting to people.

It’s perfectly fine if you want to turn your brain off and be dazzled by explosions.

It’s a terrible movie if you’re trying to build hype and excitement for a universe that’s creating a series of movies and shows.

The plot is nonsensical. Villian terrible. It’s internal logic nonexistent.

It was fun. I don't get the hate.

I haven't seen many movies that were worse, mainly because I give up if they're much below this one. Aquaman, for example.

Having said that, I'm not the target audience and it kept my interest enough to finish it. I can see where a 5.5 from me might be a 7 for someone else. I didn't hate it, wouldn't ever watch it again, but for big comic book movie fans I can see where people would be pissed for wasting an opportunity. As someone who devoured ERB when I was young, I was mildly pissed about John Carter. Not because it was a terrible 2 out of 10 movie, but because it was a wasted opportunity and it killed any chance of anyone doing it correctly.

Villian terrible.

The worst part of the movie. It blows my mind that this character was approved by management.

Lobo's character was almost a cameo. Totally underused

It wasn't the worst thing but I expected more from Gunn

Did you expect him to write and direct it?

I think it started when they chose this version of Supergirl. It was a one-off book. The idea of a wino Superhero who wants to be bratty is not really appealing to a mass audience. Most people despise teens that act like that. Why make a whole movie on that version when you have a lot of other versions to pick from. The story and the other issues just added to the hate.

I watched it on a plane last night. It was very stupid.

Constantly nerfing her so there could be a story
Constant girl power from every angle (expected)

The dumbest part was the little girl choking out the guard at the end - the same dudes who can tank direct punches and slams from Supergirl

Plot holes and convenient character placement was all over

The main villain was retarded

So their goal was trafficking women to breed for their male supremacy? So basically Epstein’s List I guess

And I’m tired of “complex”, brooding, a-hole female characters. If you want to write a male character, write a male character. Quit trying to obviously shoehorn characters written with male traits as women

I think that's the key point...

I don't want another 20 movie, 15 year run like what the MCU did. Just make a movie. If it's good enough (or has enough interesting pieces, which is a slightly different concept), people will want more.

There may be others but I can only think of Jessica Jones pulling this off successfully.
