Director's cut is less choppy. Not so many added scenes, just a lot of scenes allowed to gracefully finish.

Maybe it is just me but... I didn't really notice the cock flaapping around like most complain about, but then again I'm not ghey so I wasn't looking for it.

This movie won't win picture of the year, but I thought it was worth a watch.

I'm mixed on this. The comic was ground breaking for it's time, very deep and dark, and a lot of it still holds up. However, for me, some of the things that would have been progressive back in the 80's are seen in a lot of movies/books now...it loses some of its "shock value." Doesn't mean it's not cool, but if you've grown up on anti-heroes like Jack Bauer, etc. The Watchmen loses a degree of impact.

I don't know if I've ever been more pumped for a movie to come out, not because I was in awe of the source material, but because I wanted to see how they would translate it to the screen. I wanted to love the movie. I liked it, but felt it was missing...something. It's visually stunning, but the acting is uneven. By that I mean, sometimes it's incredible (Jackie Earl Haley), and sometimes it's how did they even get cast (I'm looking at you Malin Ackerman)? I would watch it because you won't see too many movies like it, but I would read the book. The movie works best as a visual companion to the book. As a movie by itself, you could be really lost. Or who knows, maybe the movie by itself will be your thing because you won't be skewed by what you've already read.

The movie is to a fault, faithful to the book.

Anybody that compalins about the blue cock is an idiot or 16.

ETA: I plan on buying it this weekend.

Atta boy. Nothing like the attention span of a 3rd grader to judge an almost three hour movie.

The story is based on a novel that was recognized by time as one of the 100 greatest novels of all time. but you have you have your opinion.

It's a graphic novel, and thus a novel.

Besides, you have already admitted that you HAVE NOT READ IT, so your opinion on the quality of the graphic novel is not valid.

1) Did you read the graphic novel?

no

From your post earlier today, SFP, you did not read the graphic novel, which means that you have no clue what you're talking about regarding how "laughable" it is that it is one of the top 100 novels OF THE 20TH CENTURY (not all time):

I think that guys that complain about guys that complain about it are the ones that are really trying to cover up their double secret gayness.

Honestly, I didn't have a problem with it because that was the character in the graphic novel. That's what it was supposed to be like if they were going to stay true to the comic. My wife was the one about an hour and a half into the movie that made the remark, "Good God, we get it. He's blue and naked. Do you have to show his cock 100 times?"

I think that it's awesome that some one named "DanglingFury" commented on a post about Dr. Manhattan's unit.

Well then we'll start a petition to have it removed from Time's list.

I know that's why I answered that way. I have no disillusions about my extra medium penis.

"Who are you going to please with that thing?"

"Me"

FYI, the blue penis seemed less noticeable on the TV screen.
