Denzel Washington won 2 Oscars for Glory and Training Day well before the DEI rules for the Academy was mandated and he damned well earned both of them.

I would argue Denzel Washington should have won for Malcolm X or Fences. He was good in Training Day but that's par for the course for him. Russell Crowe should have won that year for A Beautiful Mind.

Denzel is truly one of the greatest actors of all time. A true genius. I love watching him and Gene Hackman go at it in Crimson Tide.

Probably 30% of the words i say out loud are movie quotes or references. Considering i cant think of anything memorable he's said in any movie... he cant be that good. I can quote SLJ, denzel, freeman, danny glover, eddie murphy, jamie foxx, even will smith and remember plenty of scenes they were in. I saw sinner about 4 months ago and the most memorable things were the irish vampire singing and the music through time sequence that only reminded be how subpar affican music is.

Didn’t see Sinners or most of the others, so I’m curious.

I only saw F1, One Battle, and Sinners.

I thought MBJ is was great in it. I saw creed and fruitvale station and Just Mercy. To me this was his first "movie star" role.

DiCaprio was his old reliable self. But we've seen it before. Not gonna say he was better or worse than MBJ.

I just think MBJ cemented his status as an A-lister. He can do a lot of different things, including being a gangster badass.

Speaking of BP, Jordan was great as Killmonger in that movie...

MBJ was AWFUL in BP. He was the weak point of the cast.
