I honestly don't see any major Nolan obsession on here.
because he hasn't come out with a movie lately.

But John Williams is easily the superior composer.
John Williams is tGOAT. Actually easily IMO.

I personally think Zimmer is one of the more overrated Hollywood composers working today. Many of his scores sound very similar to each other. Occasionally he will hit a home run like Lion King or Inception. But John Williams is easily the superior composer.
Ding ding ding.
Zimmer's old scores are absolutely outstanding, but he's been into over-produced stuff for the last 15 years, and it all sounds hollow. Don't get me wrong, that flight theme from Man of Steel (and you know how I dislike that film) is a great piece of music, but it feels soulless. I don't "see" Superman when I hear it. And the rest of that soundtrack is forgettable.
Inception and Interstellar, while ok, are empty scores, they don't exist outside of the films honestly, and absolutely require the on screen representation.
His last great score was probably The Last Samurai. That's a beautiful soundtrack.

Who are these annoying Nolan fans you bring up? I honestly don't see any major Nolan obsession on here.
Best Picture crowing before films releases. Thinking he's the first guy to do anything, etc.
Silvestri is a mainstay for film scores, and has an incredible resume. He's in the Top 10, Zimmer and Williams are not so far apart that they "don't belong in the discussion," that's something a Nolan fanboy would say about Cuaron.
Changed the term to "fanboys," I love Nolan too, but he's often vigorously overrated by some. Which is what the statement I was responding to was insinuating.

the 2nd best use is probably the IW trailer LINK
of course, #1 is still Bring me Thanos
the "Avengers assemble" is #3 b/c i didn't like th composition they used and how big everything else was, but i'm not going to argue that
#1 is clearly bring me thanos, though

I thought the best use of the avengers theme was in infinity war with caps entrance from behind the train with black widow and falcon

I really loved the second IW trailer. The music was phenomenal.

Peak Zimmer - Journey to the Line
Also a great score. That late 90s to early 2000s run was pretty epic. And he hasn't been nearly as good since.
