Was Hans Zimmer bested by the Avengers Theme Song?

Not gonna lie, hearing it as the Avengers charge during the final battle in Endgame actually made me feel as if I was with them. I haven’t gotten that feeling from any of Hans’ themes.

Nope. Nope. 100% nope. Hans can’t be topped.

Hans Zimmer may only be bested by his protege, Ramin Djawadi.

Yes.
And I'd argue the Cap theme is right under William's Superman theme, and the two Elfman themes (Spidey and Bats) for best overall character theme.
Zimmer's modern stuff sounds cool, but lacks any emotional punch, and isn't memorable beyond the screen. He got away from traditional composing like Crimson Tide, and that's hurt him.

Part of how great Pacific Rim was, Djawadi's score.
A movie as stupid awesome as that didn't deserve it or that attention to leitmotifs. But it helped seal the deal.

Let me show how awesome it is with this bad audio!

Here's the moneyshot from a 20+ film series featuring fifty superheroes... but the music cue is what made the scene.

Alan Silvestri’s work in the Marvel movies has been damn near impeccable and Endgame was his finest work IMO. So much good music in that movie.
His career hasn’t been better than Zimmer’s, but no composer could’ve done any better with the Avengers and particularly that movie.

John Williams and Hans Zimmer are the two greatest composers in American blockbuster history. Whomever is third is so distant that they aren’t anywhere near the discussion.
Silversti has done well with the Avengers theme and it is going to be memorable for decades, but what else has he done? Both Williams and Zimmer have several iconic themes that will live on for decades to come that people can name after 3-5 seconds.

Back to the Future, Forest Gump, Contact, Castaway, Predator, The First Avenger, The Abyss
The guy has some epic scores.
Are Zimmer fans as bad as Nolan fanboys now?

I personally think Zimmer is one of the more overrated Hollywood composers working today. Many of his scores sound very similar to each other. Occasionally he will hit a home run like Lion King or Inception. But John Williams is easily the superior composer.

Who are these annoying Nolan fans you bring up? I honestly don't see any major Nolan obsession on here.
