Any opinions? It only lasted 2 seasons, so it must have bogged down.

Watched the 1st episode last night.

I thought it was excellent. Dark. Like, very dark

Starz blamed low ratings for the cancellation, but Grammar said the real reason was his conservative Republican views

this 2012 article from the Daly Mail discusses it

Grammer was very solid. The backdrop of political corruption and his progressing dementia was cut short by cancellation.

Kitty was hot FWIW.

It was very good, but I think it hit a little too close to home, especially with the big city (D) political class. Throw in Kelsey's politics, and it was on borrowed time from the get go.

Does it have a satisfying conclusion at least? I'm always scared to watch cancelled shows.

Chicago wishes they had Frasier Crane as mayor right now.

Boss was a great show. Kathleen Robertson was fiya.

In this case I think either could apply.

Although back in 2012 criticism of implicitly Democratic Chicago mayors was closer to criticizing national politics because of Rahm Emanuel.

Perhaps that was part of why the show was canceled. The Wire was just as critical but didn't carry the same risk because there was no blatant connection to federal politics.

Both these comments are spot on. The Chicago Code came out around the same time and was canceled after 13 episodes. The creator has said he was never told why.

I think the criticism of the Democratic Machine in each show may have at least contributed to their cancellations. Boss was canceled the same month Obama was reelected.

It was a excellent series. I have watched the 2 seasons at least 4 times. Now you cant watch it without paying.

Great series. I have said that I believe they knocked this show off with House of Cards. But BOSS was way better. Great story and fun to watch

Dont be scared to watch the 2 seasons. They really do not leave you hanging out there. They tie up the two seasons pretty well but leave it open to continue.

Id love to be able to see it again

OP here, I completed watching the two seasons of BOSS last night.

I thought it was a damn good series and it is hard to believe it had low ratings.

Kelsey Grammer was superb, imo.

What service did you watch it on?

I would do a rewatch in a second. Kelsey was fantastic in that series. I loved it. It kept you on your toes and you just never knew what they were going to do next.

I swear when they announced the Casino, I wanted to stand up and cheer.
