Yes. Dooku was in hiding for the most part for episode 1. He was technically a "dark jedi" I believe.

Qui-gon was dooku's apprentice so yes dooku was a jedi knight and had been one for several years.

he was a dark knight playing the trade federation and using them to further palpatines plans. He told obi-wan the the viceroy of the trade federation came to him after the failed attempt to take naboo and when darth sidious basically left him holding the bag.

The look on dooku's face when palpatine told anakin to kill him

FYI. episodes 4-6 are on spike starting at 12:15PM.

All of yall's arguments seem to pin on the fact that the so called "prequels" actually exist and are canon. I just like to think that they never occurred and keep those out of the conversation.

GoCrazy,

Very good arguments on why u think sidious controls everything, especially the prophecy, which i guess even sidious misinterprets, and mirroring the dooku and mace death scenes.

Still hard to believe the emperor was that strong....

Anyway, ur post brings up an interesting post - sidious knowing he needs another apprentice to best jedi that survive. Makes sense. Funny that both the jedi and sith split their forces for final fight instead of sticking together and fighting 2 against 1. Doubly dumb for the jedi since they initiated the final fight.

Yea they were off the chart but if no one ever found him then what good do they do him? My point being, he was not completely trained.

Palpatine was watching Anakin since birth. Maul's symbol was in his house and the original script says Palpatine created him with the force.

I almost would've preferred "Revenge" instead of "Return" of the Jedi. Luke was definitely out for blood.

at first it was titled "revenge of the jedi" but Lucas changed it at the last minute because revenge is not the jedi way.

Been awhile since i saw the 3rd one. Wasn't the clone armies fighting the droid armies on several star system and there was one jedi leading each army. The clone army was being controlled by palpatine so really the jedi were fighting with him and realized their mistake too late.

It all went in a sequence palpatine defeated mace, finished converting anakin, created the first galactic empire, threw the jedi's under the bus, sent anakin to kill the viceroy, and took control of the clone army.

Only by luck and the force did yoda and obi-wan survive.

Does the Star Wars Old Republic follow the Return of the Jedi, or before Phantom Menace? Has anyone read the books?

The Old Republic takes place nearly 3,500 years before the events in the films.

I would have to go

Yoda>Mace>Obi Wan>Anakin>Luke

I think its hard to get a gauge on Mace and Yoda since we hardly ever saw them, but in the room series it seems they are legit.

Mace also had defeated the emperor plus he smacked Grevis around.

Even Obi made a comment about Anakin's saber skills not being on Mace's level. He was regarded as being the best saber fighter.

As far as Yoda goes I think there is a reason he is the most feared and respected jedi.

I know we agreed to reference the movies only, but I seem to remember the books delving into Yoda's story a bit more. He was extremely powerful if I remember right. There was also one story where he defeated a dark Jedi on Dagobah which actually created the cave Luke went into.

Fun Fact: Google Chrome says Jedi is misspelled if you don't capitalize it.

You way underestimate the power of Palpatine. His powers overwhelmed Yoda and while Mace might have defeated him, there is the debate it was a ploy to push Anakin over the edge. The fact he could shroud his presence against the whole order and then unleash the greatest plot twist in movie history just hints at how powerful he had to be. After all, it was just him against hundreds to thousands of Jedi.

Just an aside, I read the book "Darth Plageus" a few months ago. It chronicles the origins of Palpatine and his Sith Master. It is a great book and answers a ton of questions. If you like Star Wars its worth checking out.

To all those saying yoda>mace with the saber,

Mace created his own technique! Its a big deal.

While yoda was teaching 5 year olds important lessons like - position of planets affected by gravity, yyyeessss (yoda voice), mace was practising the lightsaber in his room screaming "yes they deserve to die and i hope they burn in hell!"

As soon as I finish my last darth bane book I am going to read plageus. Has anyone ever read the novels for each movie? I heard that they are really good and further explain some things in the movies.
