But it will ruin the original!! Oh my!!

All copies of the original will be destroyed!

But maybe there is a good point that studios spending money on boring stuff like this means they won’t invest in something that would be more interesting.

The fact that the animals looked so realistic is what sucked the soul out of the movie. They were expressionless. The film was beautiful to look at but it was hollow and empty. Replacing Jeremy Irons with a black actor and shoe horning in an awful Beyoncé number didn’t help.

I'd much rather have a Gaston war prequel.
Im not a fan of prequels but Gaston is a character I would love to see one on.

Movies underperforming , theme parks on life support, and Black Widow has just been delayed ( cancelled ? ) for theatric release.

They had 7 movies gross over 1 billion last year

The parks aren’t on life support. A huge cause of the layoff was the moronic governor in California refusing to allow The Cali Parks to reopen.

Why the hell would you release a movie right now that, under normal circumstances (theaters all open and at full capacity), will probably go over 1 Billion

What ever the reason, Disney is getting hit. That’s the numbers, and letting folks go or canceling a movie release tales a bite out of their bottom line.

* Where did you get 7 movies ? Either way, it's not about what they've done, it's about the future. Disney is about long term profitability, and that's no where near playing out as planned. Movies delayed, projects being cancelled, park attractions ( Galaxy's Edge ) drawing record low numbers - even before the shut down - and now having to lay off 28K employees. Even if many are part-time, that's a very big number when they had expected to be in an revenue boom. The future for Disney in the next 5-10 years is far more bleak than anyone expected.

The film will continue with the photo-realistic technology
thats lame, miss the days when time was put into animation.

That was their thing. Disney made epic cartoons. People liked that, it got over and people were comfortable.

Lol. they own, by far, the most valuable multimedia/entertainment IP in the world.

They can probably flourish for the next 50 years without creating any new content and simply relying on their existing portfolio.
