Show's fatal flaw is repeating the same plot line every season
Find a ragtag enemy and deal with them
There has been no "journey"
The enemies are not getting more advanced or higher up
Furthermore, we know next to nothing about the biological backstory of the sickness

Fatal flaw is that amc are too scared to up the budget.
They have to work with chump change, and are now giving Andrew Lincoln close to 700k an episode and Norman close to 600k. (Plus 250k to JDM) As opposed to 80k and 60k an episode like the first 6 seasons. With a budget of only about 2 million an episode..expect less of Rick and Daryl and more of minor (cheaper) characters because of this.
They make about 280 million-250million a season on ad revenue. If they dropped 5 million an episode and shortened it to 10-12 episodes, we would have a better show.
Amc fully owns the walking dead and doesn't have to pay licensing fees. So they want to pocket everything.
