You can't swing a dead cat in Hollywood without hitting a hypocrite in the mouth.

Terminator and Rambo is where he really made a name for himself and became famous. They always want to pull up the ladder AFTER they used it to climb to the top

I bet he doesn't regret his bank account.

Repent, Cameron! Your entire career has been built on gun violence!

"I'm happy to be living in New Zealand where they just banned all assault rifles two weeks after that horrific mosque shooting a couple of years ago," Cameron added as an aside.

Someone explain to him that criminals don’t give a frick about banned guns or gun laws.

Cameron is somewhat of a fraud in many ways

Without Schwarzenegger, Terminator is a straight to VHS movie

Without Weaver, Alien is your typical 70’s monster movie with great effects

Everything since has been either a well-dressed remake or a straight up rip off of other material

Ridley Scott did the original.. Cameron brought her back for the sequel. The execs thought about leaving her out of it.

Also, one of the execs on the Terminator pitched OJ Simpson to him before he convinced Arnold to do it. Originally he would’ve been Reese, but he liked Arnold’s idea of the Terminator being emotionless and focused only on the mission

Actually, it IS kind of ludicrous to beat up on legal gun owners when Hollywood and whoever makes action video games glorifies gun violence and no one bats an eye. If weak minded individuals are going to act out it’s not the fault of the gun, it’s whatever fuels their behavior.

He rejected OJ because he wasn’t believable as a killer.

JC may be a liberal pussy. But that statement is ludicrous and makes you look absolutely stupid. He’s very easily one of the best filmmakers in movie history. In fact, it’s so stupid I pretty much don’t believe that you believe that.

And he did Aliens, not Alien. And The Abyss is great. And so is True Lies. And T2 is one of the best action films ever made (and some would argue that for Aliens too). Avatar was good and changed cinema, but it has since become cool to hate on him for that.

Even if he’s not your cup of tea, it’s hard to argue that he’s not a great filmmaker. And calling him a fraud is laughable.

Hardly.

Terminator I & II, Aliens & True Lies (which is a stretch). The rest, meh, including that chick flick Titanic.

That’s literally half of his directed movies (counting Piranha 2).

I don’t care for Titanic, but can say that’s it’s a well-made film. And Avatar is as well. Those movies made more money than ever before for a reason. And while I know box office doesn’t always equate to quality, it’s certainly a good indicator that he makes good, entertaining films.

It’s a different strokes kind of thing for sure. But saying he’s a “fraud” is ridiculous IMO.

Should’ve cut some of the swimming scenes of avatar 2

I would’ve liked more of the action scenes included
