The fact you were denied the right to watch Inception for a whole day is not a big deal. Thank her for the gift and move on with your life.

No, you don't realize this:
I wrote the name down on a piece of paper. Gave her the paper. I told her multiple times how this would be partnered with a blu-ray because that was how it came packaged. My dad and I talked about the movie in front of her when I said and she confirmed not to rent Inception becuase I was getting it for Christmas.
If she did it out of spite, that's fine and I'll take it lightly. She got me. Good one mom.
But she didn't. It was an honest mistake and she had so many times to redeem herself.
I'm over it. I'll get it today on my own buck which I shouldve done in the first place.
Focusing on frying three turkeys now.

Shouldn't it be the opposite? If it was for spite you should be pissed, if it was an honest mistake (like it was) it should be no big deal. She's a mom, she's probably getting up there in age, she accidentally mistook invictus/inception. Holy shite that's awful. Just exchange it tomorrow.

No you don't realize that it was a gift, even if she did do it on purpose, she's not required to get you what you want. It's her choice.
Why didn't you just buy it for yourself?
What a bitch!

I remember when I was young the parents/grandparents would always mixup and get us videogames on Xbox or PC or PS2 when we just had a regular Playstation. Kinda annoying but definitely never blewup on em.

She was supposed to get this. She said she got it. She wanted to. She thought she got it.
I'll get it instead.
It's not that big a deal, I still love her. She does this a lot. She has adult ADD. We already have laughed about it. I think it hit me so hard becuase I did everything I could to make sure she got the right gift to help her and her ADD. By I didn't beat the ADD. :(

I asked for the The Siege(Bruce Willis/Denzel Washington) on blu-ray and my mom called me from Best buy to ask if i wanted the one with Bruce Willis or Steven Segal (aka Under Siege). God bless her, she's a great mom but electronic shopping of any kind is not her strong suit. To the OP, laugh at the good natured mistake and move on with your life.

Although it may sound harsh this is how my mom and I deal with each other.
I think I was more mad at myself for thinking she'd get it right when I should have done the norm of me getting something like this and giving it to her to wrap.
Candy canes is a no-brainer, that's why I gave it to her.
On the plus side I don't think my mom is a fan of N. Mandela. If we watched Invictus then it may "open her eyes" haha.

Ironically, my mom in law got me Invictus. I'm pretty happy about it.
