Damn, I left Highlander, Goonies, Beverly Hills Cop and 48 hours off of my list. Can we still edit?

1. The Empire Strikes Back- Do...or do not. There is no try.
2. Raiders of the Lost Ark- It's not the years honey, it's the mileage.
3. Aliens- They mostly come at night...mostly.
4. The Princess Bride- Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die.
5. The Terminator- I'll be back.
6. The Right Stuff- Anybody that goes up in the damn thing is gonna be Spam in a can.
7. Back to the Future- So you're my Uncle Joey. Better get used to these bars kid.
8. The Neverending Story- Atreeeyuuu!
9. The Road Warrior- I'm just here for the gasoline.
10. E.T.- I'll...be...right...here.
11. Airplane!- Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit smoking.
12. Blade Runner- The light that burns twice as bright burns for half as long - and you have burned so very, very brightly, Roy.
13. Conan the Barbarian- No one in this world can you trust. Not men, not women, not beasts. [Points to sword] This you can trust.
14. Die Hard- Yippee-ki-yay, motherf*cker.
15. Return of the Jedi- It's a trap!
16. Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan- Khan!!!
17. The Thing- I know I'm human. And if you were all these things, then you'd just attack me right now, so some of you are still human.
18. Big Trouble in Little China- Just remember what ol' Jack Burton does when the earth quakes, and the poison arrows fall from the sky, and the pillars of Heaven shake. Yeah, Jack Burton just looks that big ol' storm right square in the eye and he says, "Give me your best shot, pal. I can take it."
19. Evil Dead II- Groovy.
20. A Christmas Story- You'll shoot your eye out, kid.

I'm not a chick and that movie is great.

I like that James Spader wears a white suit to school, smokes in the hallways (instead of going to class) and looks like he's 30.

But seriously, over Sixteen Candles?

I've been MIA for a while, and I'm not reading thru to catch up. Has anyone asked if the pilot episode of Miami Vice can be voted for? Cuz that was the ish.

1. Raiders of the Lost Ark
2. Urban Cowboy
3. Valley Girl
4. Excalibur
5. Poltegeist
6. Trading Places
7. Ghandi
8. Die Hard
9. Sixteen Candles
10. Breakfast Club
11. Terminator
12. Empire Strikes Back
13. A Christmas Story
14. Silence of the Lambs
15. Dangerous Liasons
16. Caddyshack
17. Working Girl
18. Aliens
19. Officer and a Gentleman
20. Risky Business

The list just seems so inadquate... Like what do you do with movies like Dune and Dragonslayer. Then there is St. Elmo's Fire and About Last Night. Even Fletch and Vacation don't make the cut... just doesn't seem right.

Blade Runner/ Right Stuff I feel a bit over rated and lull way too much.

5. Babette's Feast (an '87 Danish fim, directed by Gabriel Axel)
6. Back to the Future

15.Rain Man
16.Sex, Lies and Videotape
17.The Right Stuff
18.The Road Warrior
19.To Live and Die in La
20.Tootsie

Edited.. removed "Who Frame Roger Rabbit" to list "Quest for Fire".
First saw it in Cairo, Egypt in '84. Along with others on the list, one movie that calls for repeat viewings.
This is difficult, just to narrow down to 20.

Any 80s list simply must include the following: Tony Montana, Rocky Balboa, Marty McFly, John Bender and Irwin M Fletcher.
