I always love a good Fear Of A Black Hat reference.

I’m going with Oscar from 1991 with Sylvester Stallone. It was directed by John Landis. The casting is excellent with veterans like Kirk Douglas, Don Amiche, Yvonne De Carlo; great “character” actors like Kirkwood Smith, Art Lafleur, Tim Curry, Chaz Palminteri, Peter Riegert and William
Atherton; not to mention Marissa Tomei, Linda Gray and Ornella Muti.
It’s a screwball comedy which was certainly against type for Stallone. I saw
It in the theater back in the day and thought it was great then. It’s held up extremely well.

The Bubble Boy with Jake Gyllenhaal is criminally underrated. A funny movie.

Real Genius was one of my favorites growing up. Val also had the extremely over the top Top Secret during that time.
One that I just thought of that always made me laugh was Dirty Rotten Scoundrels with Steve Martin and Michael Caine.

Nothing in Common (at least, the first half). It's more accurately a "dramady."

Some posters are going obscure (myself included) compared to audience/fan loved movies.
Just for what it's worth, critics wouldn't know a funny comedy if a cinder block landed on their head.
Look at critical reviews of movies like Step Brothers, etc.
That said, is Ice Pirates (1984) a funny movie? God knows I laughed my arse off.

Holy shite. I forgot this movie existed. I probably saw it way too young and blocked it out of my mind. I remember liking it but also kind of being freaked out by being chased by Satan.

That is one of the funniest movies I've ever seen. Thanks for reminding me "good Dick".
The Light Grenade Scene destroys me every time:
Light Grenade
I would love to get a movie prop replica

Thank you! Watched this in high school on a loop. Wore out the old VHS.
Nicollett Sheridan... Before Desperate Housewives.
But Daphne was sort of 80s sweater hot before Melrose Place.

Next thing I know someone is going to say I've never seen Better Off Dead or Say Anything! or know who TF is Pedro Pascal.

This was his first lead role. He was 17 when they started filming. He was not at all established yet.

I loved this movie; I was about to post it myself.
Plus, my all time favorite movie: My Favorite Year.
The Alan Swan character was great and one of my favorite Peter O'Toole roles ever. Coupled with all the other characters and Benjy Stone's neuroticism (Mark Linn-Baker - Cousin Larry), it is still great. Over Thanksgiving this past year, I watched it with my 18 year old. She loved it.
