Anyone else watching this? I started towards the end of last season and have been watching every episode since.

Spoiler alert: Benedict Armold is a traitor. I thought they handled his story line very well.

I'm enjoying it but don't think I know a single person who is watching it.

I have been hooked on this show from the very 1st episode. 1 of my favorite shows right now. Things really started heating up in the latest episode.

I also enjoy it and have watched it from the beginning. It has become one of the shows I really look forward to in my list.

Good to know I'm not alone! Agreed re last episode. I've been on the road for a bit so watched the last three in one setting. A lot going on across multiple story lines. It has led me to read up on some of the people involved.

Any recommendations on good documentaries that covers The American Revolution?

I don't but would be interested in the same and in book reccs. I've just wiki'd Andre, Peggy, Robert Rogers, Queen's Rangers, etc.

Watched it from the beginning ... Like it ... Not easy to make a show when we know most of the major events, but they've done a nice job, esp with simcoe ...

I really enjoy this show. Has anyone read the book 'Washington's Spies' that is based on?

So does anyone know how closely the show follows history on this story line? I had heard Benedict Arnold mentioned on the periphery of my history classes but it was never a story that was actually covered. I'm sure they've made some stuff up, but did they use a woman to turn him for instance?

I haven't read the book (didn't know there was one tbh) but probably will now.

Shippen's role and relationship to Andre is unclear. Some historians believe she was an instigator. She definitely helped Arnold escape.

I'm currently on season 2, maybe episode 7 or 8. I actually started it when it first premiered, but I lost track of it. I binged it all in the last week. It's a cool show, but I'm afraid they are going to lose a lot of historical accuracy as far as major characters and when they died going forward. A certain character that was killed at Valley Forge on the show lived until the 1800s.

I love the show since the first episode. The actors portraying the English officers do a very good job especially Simcoe. Holy crap is he one evil sadisitc bastard. The woman who plays Peggy Shippen is Russian. She is fine too. Historians don't know to the extent of the role she played with Arnold turning to traitor. The fact that he was not owed what he thought he was due played a part but she also probably pushed him over the edge. I think it is very well done and the most recent episode kicked it in high gear. I think Monday is the season finale could be wrong but I'm looking forward to it.

I love it. One of the few shows I REALLY have to pay attention to in order to catch everything that's going on.

This season has been fantastic. Helluva finale coming up!

Simcoe really is something else. His voice kills me. His bio IRL is nuts.

I think the guy who plays Maj. John Andre does a great job too. I read the bio on him and he seemed to have grasped that person. I will be reading the book that this show is based on. I love the show and AMC did a great job casting and where they film it too.

Still in season 2, specifically the episode titled Valley Forge. Just finished it, and I have to know if anybody else has a problem with the writers giving one of the most major of major characters in this show "mental health problems" with his melancholy? You can't just do that to a historical figure like him.

Yeah Andre as a historical figure is kind of fascinating, guy was basically a bad arse spy, plus man of breeding and intellect.

Agreed on both accounts but not sure Simcoe will. Google his bio. Very interesting life.
