Do you know how to ignore people then?

It's simple. I do it every day I read this site.

I can't any more. I'm too far down the rabbit hole.

I watched the dinner scene 67 times last evening.
I stared into my newly installed eyeball mirror for 3.5 hours. I have seen my soul, God, and the devil.

-Marty is wearing a black shirt
-Rust is wearing a button down
-Rust's hair is parted, but dishevelled. He has had approximately 10-14 drinks.
-Marty's oldest daughter asks Rust 3 questions. She looks at him 15 times. She takes 3 bites of spaghetti.
-Maggie's breasts are not viewable once. She has a conversation with Rust, but not Marty.
-Marty eats an entire plate of spaghetti.
-Rust eats 2. His sweet tattoo is seen by both Maggie and the oldest daughter.
-Maggie did not use silverware, just regular utensiles.
-There was a 2 liter of Coke and one of Sprite on the table.
-Marty drank beer
-Rust had tea
-The clock on the wall read 7:36 pm

My brain has been Unfricked. This thread holds no weight over my life anymore.

Also Rust says that Steve hates him to Maggie.
His name keeps coming up in odd ways.

Isn't steve one of the detectives we have seen at their office?

Decatur,
Do you not read a lot of books or things that require reading comprehension? The bold text in the quote you pulled from motherfricking wikipedia does not in any way state or imply that the dinner was on the same night as the invitation. How many times has a family asked for a formal invitation to a family dinner for that very night? Do you know how long it takes to make a good spaghetti dinner? It takes hours just for the sauce, and since she was making the dinner for a man with whom her husband's life is entrusted, she wasn't going to just open some ragu shite. She was going to take her time. She needed at least a day, if not more, warning. And it was obvious to me and most people that Marty's invitation was not for that night. They find a body like that, they don't just stop at 5 and say "Quitting time, guys. Going to meet Marty's family." Now STFU about the god damn dinner, you stupid bastard.

ETA: imdb supports who I thought Steve was... and its not a secret because he was in the first episode, but there may be spoilers if you go digging on IMDB. Also, Decatur, STFU.

The main thing here, is that when the dinner took place doesn't freaking matter.

Hey, now you're reasoning

I just don't think the writers would spend as much time and focus on that dinner in the pilot just for character development. They can do that other ways.

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree.

I think the timeline and events the black detectives are going on come from Marty's ex-wife. The black detectives have stated several times there are inconsistencies in some of the stories the have heard from someone else.

I think some people are being unfair to Decatur in this thread. I'm not talking about the different shirts because I think it's irrelevant. These detectives have been doing their homework on Marty and Rust.
