Ali is one of my favorite guys working right now. His makeup people for old Hays do great work.

Huge full moon in Fayetteville tonight. Kinda weird how spooky West Fork and Devil's Den are now. I drove past both exits Monday and it was different.

My body is ready...
This is the first series I've watched in a while that's on TV (as opposed to netflix or prime). I kind of like the traditional one episode per week. A binge is good every now and then, but there's something about the anticipation of 8pm on a Sunday.

I'm pumped.

So I watched ep 1 & 2 of Season 3 last week, and that was the first True Detective I've ever seen.. this previous week I binged through Season 1 of TD and HOLY shite it was fricking amazing.

I don't know why I put this show off for so long.

It was good. A lot more to wade through now... something I'm confused on is the game they were playing. Did I miss them mention it early in the episode? It seems like he just brought it up like we already knew about it.

I think they just discovered it when they went through the kids' things. There was a kind of score sheet in the yellow notebook of Will's.

You did learn a few tidbits.. that they ended working the case in 81 as Hays said it’s been 9 years since they’ve seen each other in the 1990 timeline .

Also the druggie mom died in 1985 I believe

I think the juxtaposition between the poverty of the yokels in West Finger and the uber-wealthy Tyson Family, I mean "Hoyt" family will come into play down the road.

Yeah I thought that was kind of interesting

Also figured they'd have something about Wal-Mart in it at some point. I chuckled a bit at Hays wondering why a single store needed so much stuff.

One question, his hulucionation if his wife, she says that he doesn’t want them to find out about what he left behind in the woods. We don’t know what that is yet, right? That line was interesting.

I still think the cousin was involved. The hole in the wall into the girls room was really weird, and the boy was placed in the same position as his communion picture.

Also, what was the Indian guy moving there at the end? It didn’t look like a body, but I guess it could have been.

Definitely an episode that will require a rewatch. And it’s to the point where I need closed captioning just to understand wtf is being said.

The communion picture is interesting. Definitely leads credence to the uncle being involved.
