She's been involved although not by her choosing and probably not even really known to her as a kid. The barbies, drawings, etc. That's why she's a fricked up little slut.
I think her being a slut has more with her daddy issues and knowing he fricked around on her Mom. It wouldn't surprise me if she picked up the other stuff from her Dad talking about cases and such.

I also think Marty may be involved in the cover up. He's the one that called Cohle away from the school when he may of gone in, he comes out and just shoots Reginald so he can't speak anymore, the governor's cousin in the first episode shakes his hand and thanks him for doing his part when he visits the precinct, he still has that ring on his right hand (may be some sort of symbol). Could be part of the fall out.
Also, something is definitely up with his older daughter.

Damn I feel like Cohle, so close to figuring this out just missing one solid thing. I still think the daughter will be involved, somehow leading to their fallout. The storage container was definitely full of evidence that Cohle collected when we went off the grid the last 8 years

No way. I'll cancel HBO.

That's what I was thinking. Missing persons reports?
That's what that sheriff said within first couple episodes. The report was made in error because she was with her dad, not missing.
Right?

I think the ring could be USL baseball related.

Why? It'd be brilliant

It's an interesting theory but I don't know that Marty is involved. He could've easily gotten rid of Rust a long time ago. I think there's been some red herrings laid to try to deflect from the actual killer.
I do think Marty has had in the back of his mind that Rust was right about Ledoux not being the killer. And that Rust isn't "killer crazy". If he was in league with the cult you'd think he'd jump at the chance to pin it on Rust.

Ok, did anyone catch or know what rust was reading on the computer that kept saying entered in error? And how did he get back to the school?
I think he was looking up missing persons cases, and they had all been changed to "Report made in Error"

I was just coming to post something to this effect.
Someone in his daughters life from a young age must be involved.
Either him, the mom or maybe the grandfather.
And we still haven't seen Eli again and he's def going to be involved.
They keep mentioning a man with scars on his face. Had anyone noticed any of the men that have been introduced with any scars on their face?

Great catch. Pretty ear that she was introduced to this cult in some way shape or form and most likely by gramps. Could be as others have suggested that rust finds dirt on the old man and it causes he and Marty to split

Because it would be inconsistent with his character and pure shock value. That's just my opinion though.

It's seems like 3 more hours won't be enough.
Why is rust in what looks like his own house with a flashlight and deer antlers on the table? Also is a bottle of Jameson and a devil trap. What does it mean?

I'm thinking Rust dropped off the grid because he considers the police to be so intertwined with the cult of the Yellow King he'll never be able to find the truth while on the force. And that since then he's obviously been undercover. The creator said episodes 4-6 were the second act, and there seems to be a general theme of working outside the law. With his "company men" remark, I think he believes the two detectives may be somehow connected to the cult, directly or indirectly, which may explain why they seem to want to pin it on Rust.

Rust being the killer would be far too predictable for this writing.

This is my thought too. Her slutty lifestyle and hanging out with losers is going to lead her to the cult though
