Yes, but Reggie Ledoux and his old girlfriend, Rianne Oliver both had tattoos. They either voluntarily joined the cult or became unwilling property. Dora Lange only had a symbol painted on with blue acrylic. I think she was trying to get out of the lifestyle and was attending Pastor Theriot's tent services to seek spiritual help.
When Billie Lee Tuttle said there's a war going on, I interpreted it to mean, they were burning down competitor's churches and nailing dead cats to church doors. Maybe Dora's murder was an attempt to smear Pastor Theriot's ministry.
I said before in an earlier post, virtually everyone in the Light of the Way 10th grade yearbook picture is involved in some way. Danny Fontenot probably had multiple strokes using meth. His 10 year old niece was kidnapped or taken 5 years earlier. She should now be around 15.
More wild guesses ... Rust is way too freaked about meeting Marty's family. The part about the mis-sequencing of the dinner date leads you to believe that it may have been the night of Jan 3rd (both the murder date and his daughter's birthday), but in truth it's later on, so why is Rust so freaked out about it? Did you notice both investigating detectives give each other a look when Marty says he hasn't seen Rust in 10 years.
So, we all know it can't possibly be the rich and powerful Governor's cousin. Hell, probably Ms. Dupre is the real serial cult killer.

Please delete any references to characters that have not yet been shown or referred to in an episode. That's a spoiler. There's a thread for that now I think.

A lot of illuminati references so far. The spiral, MK Ultra, butterfly stickers on the chair Marty's daughter was sitting in. I think this is where it's going.
Also the antlers and "the widow sons" reference.

Illuminati are the enemies of the Yellow King from what I've been reading. Maybe this explains the Rev. Tuttle reference regarding the "war happening behind things."

It's already balls deep into the occult. Don't know why Illuminati references are surprising at this point.

Rich and powerful - Yes
But, I'm thinking more deep and dark, less illuminating.

Has anyone else read this book?
quote:
In Robert Shea and Robert Anton Wilson's Illuminatus! trilogy, the Cult of the Yellow Sign is offered to one detective as a concocted explanation of human history. The cult supposedly worships cthulhoid entities known as lloigor, commits human sacrifice, and has striven throughout history to suppress rationalism. The cult is opposed by the rationalist Illuminati.

Does anyone think Hart's father-in-law could be involved? Seems like his daughter has to be getting this sexual imagery from somewhere close.

Anyone could be involved, even if they don't have the tats or a mark.
I can't help but think that a lot of people we hear from are being deceptive. I do think that Charlie Lange may be the most honest person on the show...or maybe that actor can just give a great performance.

Or maybe Marty was just "seeing things", like the title of that episode. I would not put it past the writer.

I doubt it. Marty hasn't seen things before, and we've had two instances where his daughter is up to something strange--I have no doubt that she will be involved somehow eventually.
