Ultimately I do feel like if this show didn't have the initial draw of the two leads, it would be pretty forgettable. I mean it really isn't all that much better or memorable than The Killing, which the creator of TD wrote the terrible first season finale.

you need help. The Cult was a huge part of this show. How you missed that I don't know. Did they reveal everyone involved? No. But the cult was sure as hell a driving point in the series

Agree.

Not going back to read this whole thread or look for it, but what the hell was the spinning vortex thing?

Overall thought it was a decent show. Not the best ever, but there is a lot of substance to build future seasons on if they chose to. If the plan was for further episodes I think that what we saw can easily fit into many plot lines.

Where are people getting Errol was the "criminal mastermind" or leader? There was no mention of that

He was the worst one. The only one people remembered because of the scars and not wearing a mask at times. It's pretty obvious he wasnt the cult leader, he just happened to be the nastiest one, like the outcast of the cult in a way

Rust having hallucinations that he gets from prior drug use...

Not singling you out, but it seems like a decent amount of people are forgetting some obvious stuff

A lot of these questions are surprising. Some people might benefit from a re-watch.

If so I am about to board the SFP train for some shitty storytelling.

Why the frick add some hallucination that has nothing to do with the scene taking place, especially if it will never come into play again.

The show definitely suffered from too many "Checkov's guns" that ultimately had no impact on the plot at all and is just simply being explained away as red herrings.

Apparently you just might if you aren't sure Billy Lee Tuttle was involved in anything shady.

i said it may be part of some coverup. he had some part in something related to the cult

Come on man. Im starting to think you've been trolling everyone for 3 weeks now

All the kidnappings happened near tuttles school, pictures of little kids were found in books at his school, he was pushing to get the task force on the case, and he just happened to have video and pics of a girl being raped locked up in a safe in his house....

But nah, he might have just been involved in a cover up...but you still aren't sure. Gimme a damn break

I find it hard to believe that you really think that, but if you do then I'm glad I don't view tv shows like that

after the first few episodes, many people were talking about this show possibly being the g.o.a.t.... anybody still feel that way now that the first season and story is finished?

i get the feeling that this show has been slightly overrated around here due to the fact that it was filmed on location in louisiana.

I feel the same way as I ultimately did about LOST - I liked it but it was overly ambitious and promised this tightly written and connected mystery that they just couldn't deliver on.

I don't think it's been overrated.

The first 5 episodes were the best start to a show I think I've ever watched. Now the last 3 weren't as mysterious and we started to find some things out which started to slow things down

I don't quite think it's the best season ever, but it's definitely one of my favorites

Alright, so the hallucinations are done now.

What was their point in the plot?
