I stand by what I said. These two are only in the show so that it's not an all white cast. Neither of these characters are in the book much at all, in fact Lafayette was the dead body in the car at the end of season 1. Tara is barely in the books, maybe a few pages a book. They could easily kill them off if they wanted to, but they won't.

As far as this episode, it sucked balls. It is the first of season 3 to really take a nosedive away from the books. I HATE what they are doing with Calvin Norris. The character was a very, very standup guy in the book. He was the most noble character by far and they're making him a drug dealing POS. Why?

The guy that Lafayette was trying to sell the V to, the one Eric lifted by the throat and he told to take the deal.

I am pretty lost on all the plots/subplots going on at the moment. Too much crap going on and most of it is slow and making little sense.

It is the only way to protect Sookie. The King already threatened Sookie, so Bill has no other course but to keep her away and do what the King wants him to do.

The guy who produces the show gave an explanation as to why he has strayed from the books. Something to the effect that the books all come from Sookie's perspective, and she would pretty much be the only one working if they went that route.
He's developing other characters strictly for TV purposes. The interview was on HBO.com prior to the season 3 premier. It's about 45 minutes long, and interviews all the characters together.

I can't wait to see Russell's plan revealed, or at least much more developed. It certainly sounds like it will shake the entire South, and the Actor playing him, along with the director both said it promises to be huge.
Oh and, we already knew Erik wanted to kill the Vamp responsible for controlling the Wolves for all those centuries, but to have that same Vamp be the one who killed his entire family is pretty cool.
Since that same Vamp was hooded and cloaked, is there any possibility that it was not Russell?

Right on. Tonight's episode was great. First REALLY good one of the year for me.
Things are starting to come together in Mississippi now, and it's going to be messy. Eric is going to go Viking apeshit at some point. Can't wait for that.
And of course, I can't let this pass without saying something... nerd goddess Melissa Rauch makes an appearance in tonight's episode.
